Got it, I understand what you are doing now. Thanks. Have you thought about a stationary fence mounted to the table, like a miter saw for wood? My biggest complaint with these saws is getting them set to some precise angle, and then getting it back to 90 degrees when done.

To me it looks like the fence is still mounted to the pivoting saw, not the stationary bench. How does this help you with miter cuts? What am I missing? Thanks.

I don't know what the laws are where you live, but here the largest steel mailbox post you're allowed to have is I think 1 1/2" or 2" pipe, and the largest wood post is a 4" x 4". This is due to the fact that it is on the right-of-way of the road and they think anything bigger could hurt...

Mine is the same way, blade not parallel to the miter slot. I have a Milwaukee deep cut, 6230 I think. If the new plate works for you please let me know, I would like to get one also. Thanks.

I've had one in my shop for about 5 years. Used it three times. It's now on the trailer to haul to the scrap yard. Takes up too much space for the rare instance it gets used.

Are you sure about the direction your trusses run? Outside and aerial pics seem to suggest they run the opposite way, which would mean it is not load bearing.

I'm not sure what your idea of cheap is, but 4130 is all i could find at McMaster, if you don't want to drill it out. Probably could find something cheaper with a smaller ID and it would be very easy to drill it out to 29/64, in my opinion. Of course $21 for 3' is fairly cheap in my opinion...

I don't use mine everyday, but it has built a barn, a few decks, some interior work, and it's had a swivel on it since new. No problems at all. Sure makes it easier to get the hose to do what you want. I have one like below.....
