Anybody know of a 'high-end' alternative to this POS?

I have two sizes of these for drilling plus the one they make for tapping. They work great.

    Pole Barn Security

The installer suggested that but we then decided that with a long count-down someone could get the door open, load some stuff up, and be gone before or shortly after the alarm goes off.

    Pole Barn Security

Something else to keep in mind, if you are going to have operators on the doors, and door sensors, you will need a remote to disarm the system from outside. I added a key fob to my barn system for this. I think it was less than $100. The problem with operators and an alarm system is you have...

Is this welder/cart and table a good deal?

I had this model welder and just recently sold it on Craigslist. I got $200 for mine without the cart, regulator, and table. Mine was about 15 years old and I think I paid $299 for it new. Like lx460 said, its $459 now, without the regulator and table, so $400 is probably high. It is a decent...

Metal cutting saws -- too many options...

I have the Rage Evolution 2 saw and a Milwaukee portable band-saw mounted to a SWAG table. For more precise, or square cuts, I use the Evolution and it works fantastic. I have not worn out the original blade or had it sharpened yet, but I did buy another one when Menards had them on sale...

Chinese Cut50 Plasma Cutter group buy interest

I was under the impression from Bob's previous posts that he had already included the warranty cost into the pricing. If it's not included we need to know the cost for warranty. And will everyone pay it? If only certain people "buy" the warranty that is just more **** for him to keep track of.

Chinese Cut50 Plasma Cutter group buy interest

I'm in for a plasma cutter. I would take consumables also if that works out. Thanks!

Looking for a good corded circular saw

I disagree with the 2 handed statement. I have a Skil 77 and although it does torque sideways more at startup than a direct drive saw, once spinning I find it easier to use one handed. I think this is due to the extra length. It is substantially longer and much easier to cut straight with, IMO.

Post your water well and pump questions

I'll check that out tonight and see if I can find a model number on the tank. Also I forgot to mention that sometimes I notice the pump come on when seemingly there is no water running anywhere.

Post your water well and pump questions

KJB, Thanks for your help ahead of time. Our well and house are only 5 years old. Drilled well, submersible pump, bladder tank set-up. Over time, the pressure has seemed to drop, especially upstairs. I'm assuming that either the water is leaking into the bladder area or the air is leaking...

Lincoln's new multi process welder - power mig 210 MP

I did finally get mine up and running, unfortunately I can not get gas to come through the mig torch. There is definately gas going into the back of the machine, but nothing at the handle. I'm taking it to the LWS today to see what's up. I have not tried flux core or stick.

Lincoln's new multi process welder - power mig 210 MP

My welder came in this morning.....going to pick it up this afternoon. Unfortunately I am having lasik eye surgery tomorrow and can't expose my eyes to dust, smoke, or fumes for two weeks. I guess I will have to wait to try it out.

Show off your Menards Masterforce tool boxes.

Here's a pic of my workbench under construction from last year. I do not have any finished pics or drawer pics, but I have some advise. This is made from three 46" boxes. I would not get this size again. Notice how the drawers are split evenly down the middle. On the 41" there is a row of...

Lincoln's new multi process welder - power mig 210 MP

I saw that too, but have not seen anyone post about actually using it. I have not received mine yet, but I am going to the LWS next week to get my tanks filled so I will ask the, about it. I gave a couple projects lined up for it, so I'll keep you posted.

How do I calculate the torque needed to lift trailer rmps?

Your moment calculation is correct, but i don't agree that peak torque is at 90 degrees to the ground. The peak torque will actually be when the ramp is parallel to the ground. With a 200 ftlb spring the ramp should balance horizontally (parallel). This is assuming the pivot is relatively in...

    NORSEMAN drill group buy

Got my drills today....I was making so many ooohs and aaahs and other noises that my wife asked if I wanted to be alone with them. Thanks to Patrick and Doc for making this happen.

Lincoln's new multi process welder - power mig 210 MP

I am just using it at home for misc. projects. I ahve outgrown my Craftsman 110V mig and thought this was a good option. I was talking to my dealer, who was ordering a couple for the store, and he said he had quite a few people calling asking about them. I went ahead and ordered so I could be...

Lincoln's new multi process welder - power mig 210 MP

Ordered one earlier in the week. At first they said it would be here next week. They called back and said it would be the middle of November. This was from my LWS.
