    When do you “let the tool do the job” or put force into it?

    When I was a youngster 60+ years ago, my grandpa would tell me "let the saw do the work". I still hear his voice when I'm using a hand saw.

    Current recommend for a regular screwdriver set?

    I have a set of Milwaukee screwdrivers in the shop, and Grace wood handle set in the house. The Grace's don't get much use, but very comfortable in the hand.

    Barn light on rough sawn

    Caulk (silicone) where the canopy meets the wall. And wrap the wire nuts with electrical tape. And check on the caulk every couple of years to see if it needs to be redone.

    Romex Strippers

    Yep. perfect for stripping the outer sheath. Cut it down the middle never cutting the insulation on the conductors. I had one in the 80's. Used it until the mid 90's. Haven't seen it since. I was surprised to find them for sale online.

    I used one of these 30 some years ago when I built my house. Used it to cut the sheath. Then wire strippers like the Klein Tools one above for stripping the wire ends.
