    Dug up old hatchet/hammer head

Nice job on the the carpenter's hatchet. I love seeing what I refer to as "ground-found" tools. Tools that were found on or in the ground of which I have a few.

    Kobalt Tool issue

I have a set of the above pliers and I really dislike the big rubber grips. If possible I would like to remove the grips and just rubber dip the handles. Any ideas on how to remove the grips?

    Lowe’s not stocking Craftsman?

The only Kobalt tools I have are a tire fill/pressure gauge (2nd one) which doesn't measure accurately and a set of pliers with big think rubber grips which I hate. I'll take Craftsman tools any day. Just about all my Craftsman tools are 70's-80's vintage and I doubt I'll need to replace any of...

    My Latest Refinish.

My first Craftsman crank drill. Sometimes I get too anxious and tear down without any before pics. This one was scuzzy.

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

When I worked at Sikorsky Aircraft in CT I used to see some of those P&W decals around the plant. All Sikorsky helicopters were built and tested with Pratt & Whitney engines because both companies were under the same United Technologies umbrella. Mechanics and engineers were always going back...

    My Fleet ratchet.

I picked this up at a pawn shop for $3. Though is says "Fleet" research tells me that Proto and Penens could be involved somehow. Anyway, it cleaned up nicely and the innards are smooth with no sign of wear or slop in the movement. It's a heavy ratchet and seems quite sturdy.

    Poor Man's Oil Cups

Good fix. I love fabrications for function. Only thing I'd do is shorten up the tubes and make some nicer caps. Great job.

Best shop wall clock, I need insparation.

My two. Yeah I know, not very exciting but I have two more walls so I'll know what time it is no matter which way I'm facing. I'll probably build the next two.

    Utica steel 91-6

My Utica Steel 6" adjustable wrench. The jaws are the square opening rather than the hex. Jaws are not sloppy and the movement is smooth. Info I've found is a bit confusing as to whether the Alloy Steel model 91's came before or after the drop forged ones. Anybody know?
