I believe if the motor is out you should be able to grab a wiper arm by hand and move them, but i'm not 100% sure. That may help you determine if something is seized up under your cowl.

I think one thing you should consider is moving the work bench along side the big shelf, and any other large items that go out into the area all on one wall. That way you'll have more room in the working area. As most others would suggest, moving stuff off the floor is huge - so shelves galore...

Thanks guys! I seem to have misunderstood what batts meant. I'm assuming its just lengths of the paper-backed stuff I'm used to seeing (and already have on some of the walls) but it just isn't in a roll?

---- I have OSB on top of those trusses so there's storage up there - would I just string some fishing line or something across the trusses to support the batts before I put up my choice of cieling? And as far as what I'd be hanging - the big stuff (shelves, tire rack, etc) would for sure be...

Pretty compelling arguments for sheetrock. I guess my biggest mental hurdle is the fact that its just OSB right now...but maybe you guys are saying that if I'm going to put in time and money I might as well add the fire resistance too? Decisions decisions...
