    Seeking help and opinions

I'm not terribly worried about the light. This pic is a bit older but my lights are the same. There's three 4 foot 6500k tubes and 5 65w or 100w replacement 6500k CFLs. It is quite bright and I know it'll only get better once I paint surfaces. edit: resized

    Seeking help and opinions

Alright, I'll have to find some 24" wide stuff. I do plan on putting up OSB and painting it all as well. I don't want to mess with drywall because I 1)don't have a clue how to do it properly and 2) don't want to hassle with having to find studs anytime I want to hang something up. I also like...

    Seeking help and opinions

So here's some pics of the current state of my garage. I scored some free insulation from a friend and got 2 of the walls done. I need to do the 3rd and the ceiling yet. I plan to throw OSB on ceiling and walls when done. The floor is going to get some drylock paint + flakes. I'm 25 and...

    One car garage lighting?

The 100w equivalent (23w usage) CF "daylight" bulbs throw a lot of light for the cost, if you have multiple sockets or can put them up. I've got 3 4 foot tubes with daylight and then 6 of the CFs in my 24x24 and there's not many shadows anymore :)

Lets see some pegboard set up

I'm at work now so I don't have pictures, but at FF I got a hook set that came with small black strips that hold the pegs in. Basically the black strip of plastic goes horizontally across the hook, such that the strip's cutout touches the hook and its own 2 anchor-feet use the holes to either...

    Dream Factory

That is so cool and very original! I 2nd the idea of a nice seating/bar/tv area. Its easier to spend the whole day wrenching when you can invite the girls to at least be sorta-kinda-near. I wouldn't imagine most would even show up but at least you can say you tried :)

Dr. Bob! Dr. Bob! New lights in the operating room...errr...garage

Great upgrade. I agree - the more light, the merrier. Its never fun attempting to find dropped items or fasteners in the shadows...

Manland North's Garage: More Neons Than Vegas!

Wow that is quite a change of flavor for this site - I like it! I'm also drooling at the contents of your refrigerator...but one question - who snuck that PBR in with all the real beers?

After more than 2 years, the garage is complete.

wow that is pretty slick! You think those ramps and sawhorses will be ok up on the pegboard? Maybe the board I've seen is weak but it seems to me those pieces would rip the board...

Looks to be moving along well. Can't wait to see how it progresses - I believe mine is 24x24 too so maybe I can snag some of your ideas for the inside :)

    Jeepskate's Joint

Looking good so far - hope these setbacks don't snowball too much more and become a horror story. Interesting lot layout - looks nice and private so you can be as loud and obnoxious as you want. As far as that driveway goes, what's your top speed on that so far ?

filling relief cuts in concrete, oppinions needed

Not to threadjack as I feel this will be related since my garage is also divided into equal parts via a relief cut: Is it plausible to move contents of garage to one "half", epoxy and let cure for 2 weeks then roll everything over to the epoxied half and then do that half? What are the chances...

    Funnel storage

I think at some point I will get all of the possible assorted sizes I foresee needing. Then, I'll make a bracket that'll have half-circle cutouts of appropriate size from left to right that'll mount to the wall. The funnels will be held at an angle narrow end down to facilitate draining (even...
