    CFL lamps becoming obsolete ??

Daylight leds is where it is at. I have one bulb that is cfl- cant believe how yellow the light is- almost looks orange. If you are going leds and dont need dimmable, the 3 pack 60 watt daylight GE bulbs from Home Depot are hard to beat for $9 for a 3-pack.

The shop now matches my Shelby!

As a fellow blue-oval fan, that is an awesome garage. Nice to see a functional garage that also is not cluttered like a packrat. Great job.

What is your budget? If you see yourself a lot of cars, more than say 6 front ends- the Snap-On BJP1 is the way to go. There is a used on on eBay with 100% feedback at $375. I am no pro- I just saved $50 a week and bought it brand new- it is that good. I paid $600 new. Can't believe list...

    Magnetic Water Softener

Water hardness is caused by minerals. The reason you use salt is that the softener is a big ion exchange machine. The chemistry that happens in a traditional water softener with pellets and resin is quite simple. It is like the ion exchange columns I used in chem labs. The softener is just...

    What is a tool polisher?!

I agree with this. Kind of like a hard-parker. This is the person that puts all the race parts on his car. The only time it has been to the track, it is parked in the spectators area.

    Sump Pump Back up systems

I have well-water so a city-water driven pump was not an option. After the terrible reviews from the Home Depot Watchdog system, I installed a Wayne lead-acid battery system from Amazon. Knock on wood, so far so good. I bought the full kit that come with the battery, battery box (with smart...

    Let's see your toolbox.

Tool polishers unite:beer: This is my home set. I am no professional mechanic- a chemist and cars are my hobby as well as home repairs. I envy the collections on this site:thumbup:

Sprayfoam insulation on a garage roof.

After seeing a video about what happens when sprayfoam is done poorly- I will pass. The problem is it is mixed on site so quality control can be an issue. Def do not go to the cheapest. I would highly consider not being there during the spray & for 24 hours afterwards and then allowing...

Protecting tools after rust removal/media blasting

Fluid Film doesn't make it slippery. Rather it is somewhat tacky- but not too sticky. I love Fluid Film- in the process of cleaning up some old Craftsman sockets and Fluid Film is awesome.

    how to resize pictures

Best way is to upload them to a free photo-hosting site like Flickr or Photobucket. Then all you need to do is use the link for the photo. Flickr and Photobucket will resize it automatically.

    Car/Truck Cell Phone Holders

If you have an accessible cup holder- mediabridge smartphone cradles are hard to beat. Plastic, they have plastic arms that wind out to really grab inside the cup holder, and have an articulating arm.

natural gas moving into the area... Need input.

If you ever plan on selling- that could be a game changer. Once you grow accustomed to natural gas- hard to live without it. Plus other possibilities open up- garage heat, standby generator, gas dryer. They might even let you split up the payments. If they did, I would split the payment and...
