    Interior walls for steel building?

Thanks guys, that helped alot. Better to see what others have done than to wing it and reinvent the wheel. Getting ready to head over to meet with the contractor and show him the sample plans...may end up just having him put up the main supports and anchor them to the concrete then do the rest...

    Interior walls for steel building?

I'm trying to make my final decision this week pole barn vs. steel building. Pole barn is spec'd at 30x40x15, Freedom Steel building at 32x40x14 (clear span) and the steel looks like it's going to come in a decent bit cheaper depending upon how much my contractor wants to put it up (if I can't...

    Early planning stages, electric heat

Hmmm...just had an interesting Facebook exchange with my buddy in WI. He runs a boiler and in-floor heat but also has the boiler hooked to forced air hanging heaters...didn't even know those existed. I'm off to investigate.

    Early planning stages, electric heat

Thanks. I found more info and pics last night and spent some time on Radiantec's site and downloaded all of their manuals. Even if I don't use the in-floor immediately, I still think it's best to go ahead and spend the extra cash to insulate the slab and run the PEX. I've pretty much nixed the...

    Early planning stages, electric heat

Hi. New to the forums and recently moved from the Chicagoland area to Mid-Ohio (about 5 minutes from the Mid-Ohio Raceway). The deal for getting the house that my wife wanted is that I get a shop/garage (house only has a tiny 2 car attached garage, not even a shed). I'm in the planning stages...

    Hello from Ohio

Well, if I'm reading the septic contractor's chicken scratch correctly, the septic field is in the backyard and my building site is clear. I just have to watch for the line from the tank to the field when I bury the electric coming out of the house. Another nice thing is that one of the owners...

    Hello from Ohio

Thanks. I'm on hold with the health dept. now...they're looking up the records (thank goodness I remembered who originally owned the house when it was built)...and the plot has been located and is being faxed to me. I'll take some pre-shots of the site(s). Should have my quote on Monday...

    Hello from Ohio

Hello everyone. I'm an occasional visitor (drive-by drooling and waiting for 'the' day) and figured it was time to join. I moved from a small house with 2.5 car garage on 1/3 acre in IL to a larger house with only a small 2 car garage on 5 acres in Ohio. Part of the deal I struck with my wife...
