Plomb tool picture thread - show your stuff!

I played with acetone. I don't think anyone ever wrote a number there.also surprised at the lustre and sparkle of the sticker, it's quality and durability far exceed both subsequent layers of paint. :p Awhile back in the garage sale thread I reported this find, and shortly after I got it...

Is there an easy way to replace this valve? Plumbing question....

2 unions, a sawzall, and a threader so you can get the lengths exactly right doesn't look too bad to me

Mixing different types of drywall mud

Also worth mention, as the stuff goes bad, cure times get longer. I like 45 min for the 1st couple passes, but I have enough I can go fairly fast. It's definitely not worth using a faster mix if it sets up on your tools even once.

There's a specific time period for the pebbled field in the wing, before and after are smooth stamped with on I'm pretty sure. I don't have enough pullers to have tried to figure out what those dates are.

Weaver Bull Dog mechanical floor jack

Hydraulics bypass instead of overloading and foreign objects cannot get in them to prevent tooth engagement... So I contest the 'safer' assessment. Still a cool design with lots of beef. You might check for drill holes for squirting oil can into, I think this predates common zerk usage.

Layout of a bolt circle when there's already a hole in the center.

Carpenters trick; Set scribe:1/2 bolt circle - hole radius. Run scribe around hole. Set scribe: bolt-bolt distance. Place scribe on bolt circle, mark 2 adjoining bt holes. Move scribe 1 hole and repeat, etc. Mechanic trick; Lay the mating part on your plate, and transfer punch layout.

What is the most useful vintage tool that you use?

Hard to say, the 1920s drill press is very useful. But I probably use this breaker extension more. and the 1923 Klein is older, but works fine.
