What electrician tools should I get ?

What kind of work will you be doing? Residential? Commercial? Industrial? and if industrial will you be running power wiring and conduit or controls style stuff? I'm sure if you get into it you'll eventually have a full set of tools that will cover all the bases but if you can narrow down the...

The PB Swiss are my favorite, over my Proto, Wiha, Wera, Klein, Expert, or other sets I've ended up with over the years.

I built my own 8" buffer and got a kit from caswell plating, I primarily use it for buffing knives and it has worked well for me so far.

    Parts organization

U use plano 3700 series trays for my hardware organization. I started with this many now I have about 20 of the deeper trays on a shelf in a cabinet as well... need to build a frame for them and find somewhere in my tiny shop to mount it. I made a frame out of 1" angle and flat bar to be able...

Brushless cordless tools - Makita or DeWalt?

If you need batteries I'd suggest looking for promos rather than just buying them outright. Only time i've purchased just batts is when they were clearing out the 4Ah at depot for like $80 a pair a few years back. Otherwise I always wait for the promos... All my cordless stuff is Makita, prob...

    Kinking 1" EMT

If you have a long enough piece (longer than the bender handle) try flipping the bender over so the shoe is pointing up. The extra leverage on the longer pieces makes it a breeze... only issue is having enough ceiling clearance to get the free end of the EMT high enough so the angle of the...

    Durable outdoor black paint

I manage the maintenance and Engineering department at a petrochemical facility, including all the paint specs and we primarily use Sherwin-william industrial coatings. For UV resistance I like their Acrylon 218HS which is a 2 part polyurethane but I'm not sure if they have it in anything other...

    Drill bit set recommendations

This is my go-to set, a bit pricey but a great quality bit. Plus they have flats on the shank, which is key in my opinion

looking to go cordless but unsure of which brand/system

I bought my first Makita in 2006 when they came out with the LXT line and have been very happy with it. I now have a dozen or so tools including the chainsaw, string trimmer, and blower. Only other brand i'd consider would be milwaukee since they have some very nice specialized tools. We use...

    Shortening table saw rip fence

I got a uni-saw from a buddy that upgraded to a sawstop. Came with the full 52" cut capacity rail which would not fit in my tiny shop. I ended up cutting it down to 30" and putting a router table into the free space to the right of the saw.

    Air Lines INSIDE walls

I have a small shop (12x26ish) and ran all black pipe. I did a 3/4" main line in the attic the whole length of my shop. I then brought 1/2" drops down through the top place into the wall cavity and then 90'd to come through the OSB on the inside.
