    10" Sliding Miter Saw Recommendations

American assembled Makitas were still available at HD less than a year ago and solid buys. I had a Ryobi 12" slider and replaced it. It will never properly square up or hold settings no matter how many times you try. Weak mechanisms with too much inherent play to be useful.

    Miter Saw - newbie

Under $500 will get almost any miter saw on sale except a Kapex. The next most expensive usually list around $600 and go on sale for somewhere around your price point. I'm not a fan of sliders, too much inaccuracy inherent in the looser tolerance of the sliding mechanism. I'd stay away from...

channellock grip lock vs irvin groovelock

The hardness of the steel teeth doesn't compare to Knipex. The teeth, and therefore the grip, on the Irwin and Channellocks will wear down long before the Knipex.

channellock grip lock vs irvin groovelock

If you like to stick to the same branded tools then get rid of all you Channellocks and whatever other pliers you uave and replace them all with Knipex if you want the best.

    Toro 51619 vs B&D bv5600

Looking at leaf vacuums and these seem to be two well reviewed (whatever that's worth) ones available at the big box stores. Anyone who has used one more than once who isn't a paid reviewer have anything to weigh in on one vs the other? This will be used for vacuuming only. Open to gas powered...

Difference between "insulated" tools and normal tools

110V and 1000V are very different electrical potentials. Just because it worked at 110V doesn't make it safe at 1000V. Realistically, if you don't understand the benefits and proper application of insulated tools then you don't need them.
