Its been a while since I've had time to post on this. Getting the partial contractor done and gone was a chore. Work ethic around here isn't much:( I had to do the interior myself and am finishing the trim now. I have lights..bigtime! I asked the electrician to give be plenty of light and now I...

    Lights, Radio interference

Brad, I have almost the exact setup. I have a few more light fixtures, 9 six tube. They are wired in 3's. If any one is switched on, all reception is gone! Someone must have a fix for this!! If the rf is that bad it looks like the fcc would be involved!

Things have been moving slowly. It's amazing that, with the building slowdown, its hard to get contractors to call back or show up when they tell you they are. Garage door guy was on time and working today though!

    Garage Door Size

I have 9 foot wide and 8 foot high doors on the attached and my F 1 fitty mirrors are a tight fit. Wife won't back it out. I'm doing 9 foot high and 12 foot wide doors on the new detached. That should do it!

The upper left corner is covered by the stair. It does provide light for the stairwell and the space under the stairs. I put the window there to "balance" the look from the outside.

With the sand, morter, oversize brick, steel, wall ties, nails, and labor it is close to 10 grand. The window treatment and corners ate up a lot of brick because you can only use a portion of each brick. It made a good match with the house though and looks like it belongs on the same lot. The...

    30x40 Build

Thanks! The two large doors face south and the third faces north east. I should get good ventilation in the summer. One end bay is a wash/storage bay. The third bay will someday have a lift. I still have a ways to go and the weather here has been awful.

Thanks, I did brick to match the house because the garage is in front of the house. Thought it would look better that way.

    Which Garage Door

I’ve been looking at doors for my 30x40 project. I’ll need two 12x9 and one 10x9. Does anyone have an opinion or experience with the Clopay premium, Wayne Dalton 9100, or the Amar 3000 series? The Dalton is the thinnest but has the better insulation. It is also the less expensive. Thanks!

Here are a few from today. It's been COLD here since last week. The brick guy built a cover for the side of the building and heated it. It finally got to cold for them to work and for the morter. Since then the wind has torn down the tent. It worked while they were in it (60 degrees). The...
