    30x40 Build

The smooth coat popped up in that area. I found a little place and picked it out as far as I could. I figured that if I could get it up, it would come up on it's own sooner or later. The rust is from where tie box blade was sitting.

    30x40 Build

I did my own plans so-to-speak. Just measurements and drawing. The trusses were built and certified for the span. So far, I forgot to put the electrical conduit and water in thru the block. I'll have to do that the hard way. Here is where we are so far. Waiting on the brick because it is so cold...

    How far in?

Just getting started on my 30x40. Eventually I will be installing a two post lift. I would like to plan placement now so that I can pour deeper for the lift bases. My longest vehicle will be an F-150 (about 20'). How far will the lift need to be inside the overhead door in order to have room to...

They are already on order (likely built) so I cannot change that now.

    Lift/Ceiling height

I know what you mean about taller is better. I guess I'm just too ****. I was just a little scared that it might look like a Giraffe with a party hat on. I guess the 12" won't even be noticeable. Thanks everyone! Great bunch of people on here!

    Lift/Ceiling height

Thanks for the replies. No, I cannot change the trusses now. I can change the ceiling height. The builder says he can fudge up a few inches if need be to 12.3 or so. I am concerned about how the building will look with the additional 12" height. Do you think it will look out of proportion? I...

    Lift/Ceiling height

I am building a 30x40 stick built. The idea is to add a 2 post lift later. Along with deciding where the post will go and putting thicker footings there, I am in a jam as to ceiling height for the lift. I will be putting an F-150 on the lift as the tallest vehicle. I see that the Bend pak 10acx...

    40 x 32 in MD started today!!

Gregz I have the bessler pull down stairs in my home. They work great and are very sturdy. The only bad thing that I can see is that they are only 19 inches wide. I was thinking about one for the new garage BUT...over two grand!! and I felt that I might need something wider for garage storage.

    40 x 32 in MD started today!!

Thanks. I'm building a 30x40 very similiar and am a little concerned about the space taken up by interior stairs. I have considered interior, exterior, and Bessler pull down. That Bessler is nice but over two grand!! It looks like the interior is what I'll end up with. When you do the picts, try...
