My Old snap on set is almost complete!!

Thanks for the link, billymade. I went thru my son's toolbox (he is six) and most of his stuff is the early 1950's thru the late 1970's.

My Old snap on set is almost complete!!

That is a neat set, with the box and all. I am sorry for the hijack and dumb question, but how do you tell the difference between the older Snap-On tools and the newer ones?

    Big Wrenches

Farm auctions, pawn shops, and ebay. About half of them appear to have never been used. I have paid 9.95 up to 33.50 /ea for them. Some of them still have not been used, but when all I can afford is junk equipment, I figure that I will get some use out of them at some point.

    Big Wrenches

I personally like and own the Wright Tool wrenches with the round handles (much easier on the hands). I have them thru 2 1/2". Much more reasonable than some other brands. Could also make a good weapon if necessary.:bounce:

    DA Sander Recomendation

The Hutchins looks nice. I am not a professional auto-anything. I have been restoring several older tractors and do not have a sander (always borrowin one from my father -in-law). Do you think in my case that the Hutchins is worth the extra investment? Can you recomend a place to purchase from?

    DA Sander Recomendation

I am looking to purchase a D/A sander for small projects. I am currently like the looks of the IR 4151 & 4152. Can these be used without a vac? Does anyone have any experience/recomendations? Thanks

    Offset screwdriver

The two Skewdrivers that I have are a bit different than what you have pictured, but these have proved invaluable when I was in college working in high end car audio installations: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-2u5hldpJeEZ/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?i=180SPK4042

    1916 Winchester ratchet ?

I have been collecting both Winchester and Keen Kutter tools since I was nine years old (almost 30 years). I honestly have not ever seen a Winchester ratchet like you described. I don't think it would be worth a fortune, but definately worth a $20 bill.

Where can I buy Felo and Wera tools?

I've never heard of Felo, but you can purchase Wera screwdrivers from MSC Industrial. I'm pretty sure that they are on sale this month (check out the sale flyers on their website). McMaster Carr also used to carry them, but not sure they still do. I have been thinking of buying another set...

    Sears $5 coupon

I have been stocking up on spare screwdrivers and air compressor fittings. Can never seem to have too many of either of those.

    Sears $5 coupon

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh noooooooooooooooo. I almost got a divorce the last time I found Sears $5 off coupons for $5 or more. The last time was in April of 1999 just after I got married. At the time, the coupons were for anything in the store. I think we cashed in 43 coupons in six weeks time...

Tire Plug Kit and 12 Volt Compressor

I picked up a pretty nice set from Buzzard Gulch a couple of years ago. The tools have metal handles. I believe that it was manufactured by Blackjack.

How would aluminum work for a workbench top?

At work, I am waiting on a shipment from my supplier of .080 3003 aluminum (28 sheets). My current price is $104/sheet delivered, with a pvc protective coating on one side. I was paying less than $56/sheet a little over three years ago. My last shipment of polished material (one side only)...

Has another one bit the dust, Waterloo?

I think there were two locations. One of them was Pocahontas.

Has another one bit the dust, Waterloo?

I received an auction flyer at work this past week. It was for some serious metalworking machinery at three Waterloo manufacturing plants, possibly in Arkansas (???).
