Funny you guys mention that, I snapped the Lisle Torx bit doing the second caliper torx bolt for brakes on my dad's Audi. The HF torx bit took all 8 off with no problem.

I would stay away from anything HF that's cordless...and that's coming from probably the biggest HF fan on this site :D

As a shadetree mechanic, would it make sense to have a set of external torx sockets? Where have you guys run across them?

Is that a new policy? The past few weeks I've warrantied 3 or 4 things (granted I buy a TON of tools from HF) without a receipt and nobody hassled me.

For the weekend DIY'er my Harbor Freight impact sockets are just dandy. Granted I have an electric impact which only puts out ~325 lbs, but I cannot imagine that the sockets won't be able to handle it.

Like Frank said I would not have waited. He is selling you products, you are doing him a favor by purchasing his merchandise. If he can't even be inconvenienced to drop by and take your money I would look somewhere else.
