Are the grounds hooked to the grounding screw in the fixtures? Is the ground good? This can cause problems.

220v Circuit - Only One Leg Hot

As stated above it is most likely the breaker. I have found many 220 breakers open on one side, even a couple of brand new ones, mostly GE. I have found on service calls loose screws on breakers and also on the receptacle. One that comes to mind had the insulation chared six inches back from the...

    Probably a dumb lighting question

You do not have to buy new lights. Buy the electronic ballasts and the bulbs to go with them and retrofit all of your lights. Will make a huge difference. That is assuming you do not have the really cheap fixtures!

Can you use a light or receptacle box as a junction box?

If you need more room in the junction box you can buy a box extender at any electrical supply house. I doubt that you will need more room with just two circuits though. Most wiring jobs require more than one circuit in a pipe run.

External Garage Lights...Linking to garage opener light circuit?

If it were me I would use the relay and the extension that S10 described. Lots more choice in bulbs and absolutely no changes to the opener circuit. Probably cheaper than led bulbs and will be capable of putting out a lot more light.

    Expectations - Auto Glass Repair

I have owned a auto glass business and we always cleaned up the broken glass. If they did not clean up the mess what other shortcuts did they take? Very unprofessional in my opinion. Elmo

How old is this mechanics seat

I have had this rolling seat for at least 40 years. Someone gave it to me. I apologies for the picture quality. It was manufactured by Parker products and is a model 100.

A pic of the rafters. The end rafters are a 2x6 lower than the rest to give support to the overhang.

    My pole building

They are coming, I can only post one picture at a time for some reason. Those 2x12's are heavy so I used a couple of rope blocks to hoist them. The 16 footers were used for walkways to hang rafters. I am doing 90% of this alone.

    My pole building

I used doubled 2"x12" on top of the poles for girts hung with joist hangers. One on the inside and the other on the outside. Did this between all poles lengthwise and used one between the poles on each end. Then used 2x6's for ceiling joists.

    My pole building

A year ago I started a new pole building 24'x40'. I used my 1951 8n with a post hole digger for the holes. Then used same with lift boom to set the poles. I put the rear mounted scoop to get a mix of sand and gravel from a creek on my place to tamp the poles .

Can I flush mount these end to end?

As Mustang said. They usually have a knockout on the ends, just punch it out and tie them together with the chase ******. Elmo

    Top hung garage door

Somewhere I saw a video about top hung garage doors. The doors had air cylinders to raise the door. The principle was similar to the way an engine hoist jack cylinder works. The door could be used temporarily like a shed roof if you wanted to work on something only partially in the shop. I have...

    Wilton vise swivel base broken

Thanks Kevin that is what I have been looking for. The temp to use for preheat. I have a ceramic kiln to preheat with and plan to return the base to the kiln after brazeing and use the kiln for cool down. I will just drop the temp a little at a time till it is cool. That Guy that is my plan. Elmo
