    Racedeck Diamond wear

I have no tire marks on any color of my tiles. I had all white under the 4-post for a decade and when I switched under the 4-post to graphite, the white tiles still looked good. Rest of the garage is black&white with a red border and tires don't seem to mark Racedeck at all.

    Another racedeck question

the tiles fit so tightly that not a lot of slush will go through. I have the diamond because that is all they made when I first got the floor but also because I do a lot of woodworking in my shop along with metal work, I don't want things to fall through the tiles.

    Festool Meets A "Mechanic"

I know I am late to this thread, specifically about the LR32. It is interesting to me to read the comments about the LR32 and what some people have said about it not being worth it. It is the one tool that got me hooked on Festool. I have used it more than any other Festool I have bought, on...

4 post BendPak Lift on Sloped Floor

If I was going to bolt it down, I would put wedges in. My lift has been on my sloped floor for over a decade with no issues, its not bolted down, its on top of Racedeck tiles and I want to be able to move it sometimes.

is my bid too high? Central Valley California

I paid $60k for a 980 sq. ft. garage in Santa Barbara 10 years ago. Original quote was $45k, some silly city code and permit ruled bumped that up to mid-50s and I bumped to 60 with some other nice things. About the same as original poster, 45ft from the main house, 10ft. walls, driveway...

    Moving a 4 post lift?

I used my car trailer to move my 4-post, dismantled as little as possible and put the pieces on the trailer. 2 guys (me and my daughters ex-bf) moved it in about 3 hours, dismantled and re-assembled. Not counting travelling time of course.

    RaceDeck Vs Epoxy

The staining is likely because you tried "Racedeck-style" tiles, I have had my Racedeck well over a decade and my tiles have not discolored. Under my 4-post I went with all white tile to reflect the light back up to my project and it was that way for a good 10 years with my daily driver parked...

    WiFi in the Shop

eero ! I got a eero system for Christmas, 2 units in the house and one in the garage that is about 70ft. from the house, absolutely flawless FAST wifi all over the house and the garage. Not the cheapest method but it works so perfectly and so easily that I don't mind the few extra $.

Worried my barn will be condemned- permit strategy?

as far as the city is concerned its a existing building, since you mentioned you just bought the property someone from the city looked at it and put on the papers. So now I would just do the work and not worry about when I resell. The papers likely don't say the existing condition, so pour...

    How to pick siding

I let the wife pick out the siding, quickest and easiest way to avoid a war since she is the one that has to look at it. I can't see the siding from inside the garage and I really didn't care what it looked like as long as the inside was well insulated, heated and most important big enough...

    Snap-together garage flooring?

I have had Racedeck in my garage well over 10 years now, has to be close to 15 by now. While I don't use floorjacks that much because I have a lift, the only real damage to my floor has been from Welding or Plasma cutting and that is to be expected. Racedeck has offered many times to replace...

One welder, or two? MIG TIG

I cant seem to get the hang of MIG either. On sheet metal, it seems to work more like a plasma cutter than a welder. TIG was easy to do compared to MIG. But I still wont get rid of my MIG it serves a purpose on thicker metal when I want a quick weld.

    Another Racedeck Floor!!!

I am not CB804 so I can't answer for him but my garage floor was brand new, poured only 2 weeks earlier when I put down my Racedeck, I wanted the look and warmth of the tiles when I am in the garage barefoot. When I work on the car, I am properly dressed with proper shoes but if I am just out...

    Design question

I find I worked more in my old garage that was attached then my new garage which is 45ft. from the house. I tell my wife its because I love her and in the old garage we could leave the door open and talk while she was in the living room and me in the garage but in reality I don't know why. The...

    Gun Safe in Shop

i first installed my safe in the garage without really thinking about it, a friend came over and told me how nice I was to put right next to the plasma cutter. When we did some remodeling in the house, wifey let me build a special, nicely hidden spot for the safe, most people would not notice...

    hearing protection

shooting protection, mine are from ESP and they are super expensive at $2k but they are freaking awesome (even more so since I didn't pay for them, work did). They are custom fitted ear plugs which amplify normal sounds and shut off all sounds above 90db's or 80db's depending on the model. I...

RaceDeck owners - Daily Use & Long term wear?

op where are you located ? you can come by and see my 12+ year old Racedeck floor and see for yourself. I use my shop daily, I have restored cars, I have 2 lifts, metal lathe, etc. Its a working shop and I think the floor looks fine. Of course I don't have the freeflow, I don't think it was...

    Gun wall storage ideas?

in the old days we trusted our kids and their friends with access to guns, now you can't trust their friends. When my daughter was born, we started keeping all ammo in the garage and the guns in pieces so a toddler could not accidentally shoot one. As she was growing up she gained limited...
