Torque Wrench needed 350ftlbs min and bi-directional

LOL. Good point. However, think about what one would have to have on a wall to complement the center piece. There's a ton of absolutely empty garage-ma-hals on here and there's others with staggering memorabilia, pictures, trinkets, etc. This is one of the few things that could/would look in...

Torque Wrench needed 350ftlbs min and bi-directional

I'd go and get the biggest baddest sob I could, if I had to. Then I'd make a shadow box for it and display it PROUDLY in my garage and make sure I got my money out of it just as a curiosity, if nothing else. (Shadow box would have bullet proof glass and an alarm that would rival Ft. Knox.) :D

Torque Wrench needed 350ftlbs min and bi-directional

Yup, probably not as much as in the UK though. Why am I not surprised Paoli is Italian for high speed, high torque, big money air gun. Great tech!

Torque Wrench needed 350ftlbs min and bi-directional

Any chance you could replicate the current F1 air gun specs for cheaper? I realize you don't have a 'pull pin' but surely the torque is close. Or, do you want exact? (Readings prove 'close to exact'.)

Thinking of buying a welder from home depot

Nice to see someone referencing the person, not the machine. ;) I haven't heard someone refer to a person who welds as a "weldor" since I read "The Oxy-Acetylene Weldor's Handbook, 7th edition" printed in 1972. (Sorry for the tangent.)

    workbench ideas please

I have only one thing to add to this thread. Do a google image search. You'll be shocked at how many different ideas you see out there. Also, don't just look at the subject matter [the bench] look all around the shop. Some of my best ideas have been stolen w/ google's help. :D

Thinking of buying a welder from home depot

I couldn't agree w/ you more Grant. Looks like there's a few MM members here. Figures. Oh, and don't ask me how I happen to know about bottle jackets..... If/when you want to pull that trigger let me know. I have a neighbor that does custom professional embroidery out of her home. $50,000 worth...

Thinking of buying a welder from home depot

You do realize, a truly retentive person would have a "bottle jacket" made with preferred auto insignia emblazoned on the top somewhere near the draw tight string........... There's a niche market for ya. :D

Thinking of buying a welder from home depot

Go w/ the 220v. Speaking from experience here. I had a 110v and it just couldn't do what I wanted it to, even on thin stuff. I upgraded to 220 and wow, I don't **** as bad at welding as I originally thought. :D Also, you might want to watch your local Craigs List. We have welders on our all the...

    High back stool ?

Why not scour Craigslist, or other local sales area. Wait for a chair and just make the thing into what you want. I mean. The steal tube that goes into these things isn't the thickest in the world, and w/ a bit of ingenuity one could easily modify a stool to their own needs. I got lucky. I'm a...

Help Me Stock My Garage With Equipment

Wow. Lots of responses. Just none from the thread author. My 2¢. Make the tools unless you can just afford them. Some are easier to make than you think. ;)

Another great use of old metal destined for the scrap heap. Great job. Something that will last a LONG time.

    garage software?

Any chance you'd mind making those image public? (Yes, I'm THAT much into reusing code.) :D Can/will send email address if you don't want to make them generally available. Thanks and that's a GREAT idea. Darren

    My new garage so far

Good to see another CC.com member over here. Great look'n floor. Question about your paint scheme. What did you have for paint/walls before you went red and white? If just a plain white wall then did you notice the garage got "darker" after painting? I've been thinking about something similar...

    New member 05 garage pics

Looks great. However, I've got a $20 that says insulation, and/or a heater, will be in place before this time next year. ;)

    My Project - Almost Finished

Thanks for the response. I was wondering how you kept from destroying the race deck w/ the welding by-products. Good call there! Can you give an estimate on the cost of the Larson screen? I just visited my local reseller and they were completely clueless. I did see some lateral screen doors and...

    My Project - Almost Finished

Can you elaborate on where you purchased the screen door? Larson's page has a lot to be desired. (Or, I'm just a tool. Either is QUITE possible.) Also, how are those tiles holding up in your welding center? Great looking space!
