This was the 2nd Snap-on tool I purchased ( after the ratcheting sd) I can't believe that others don't use them more I guess the drivers just don't show them off enough! And This is just about the Best pliers made and would be the best, if they just made one change to it and included a...

Caster wheels, anyone made them before?

I have made a few wheels for fixed casters, and my engine crane's front wheels. I made them out of 8" well casing for the "treads" and 3/8" plate disks for the wheels with 2" round stock welded to the sides of the disks for "hubs". On the engine crane I used roller bearings and the 4 other...

That was/is what became the dewalt line of tools, They are great little grinders and tough as hell. I have had 3 of them for all most 20 years ( I got the first one in like 1989) and they are still going strong! Fix the cord and beat the hell out of it. William....

Best SandBlasting Cabinet/setup for $500 or less?

Wilkerson Coalescing Filters are top shelf items, however I would never pay full price for a new one they are $$proud$$ of them. You can pick up a surplus one on e-bay for about 25-35% of the retail price. I have some for sale but they are way too large for your use, the filters would last...

    Cman clutch -head screwdrivers

My 41 chevy panel truck has them every place on its interior and on lots of the body panels too. When I got it I picked up a compete set of New Britain (SP??) brand drivers from the local napa store. They work ok but you really need a socket bit driver for the larger screws. Snap-On also...

Changing a three phase compressor to a single phase compressor, help please....

The problem with the starter conversion is not that you can't run a single phase motor off a three pole starter, but rather that they are not normally sized to allow a direct conversion. Normally you will find a NEMA 0 or size 1 starter on a 5hp 3 phase motor ( 480V or 240V for the...

Allen-Bradley Magnetic Starter - Heater opinion needed!!!

They are not cheap, new they are about $13 or so each. So that would be an extra $26 to have a spare set of some thing that very rarely ever fails. The only ones I have ever fried were some fast acting 1.5 amp heaters that I blasted with lots of amps by mistake, when I changed out a starter and...

Allen-Bradley Magnetic Starter - Heater opinion needed!!!

You could use three w56's but then you would have to purchase three of them, when you only need 2 and the leftover one for the non used contact. As it's not doing anything but allowing the ratchet mechanism to function, so you don't care about its size. If it trips just reset it, unless you...

    Pole Pig Transformers

True but you could get my better model for only $1200 :thumbup: New price from the wholesale place is about $4k for a non K rated, copper transformer. The K13 rated model was a custom order item so I didn't even price it! BTW you have to use enough transformer to supply your panel as...

Tire balancer questions! including 1 phase to 3 phase

A VFD is really made to only operate motor loads, you want it run the whole machine. The non motor parts of the balancer might not like the power output of the VFD, they could be just fine too, you will not know until you try. Only problem with that is when you buy the VFD and use it your...

    How loud is your compressor?

My Quincy QR-25 model 390 is about as loud as the fans on the VFD and the motor whine caused by it. I have heard 5hp Eaton compressors and my 20hp quincy is not nearly as loud. BTW I bet they measure the db at 25' or more from the machine to get any where near 72db William....
