picts of your in-floor heat set ups.

Hi Badger, Thanks for your notes. Loops lengths are even but there is one loop that has an extra 20'. Bit of a screwup there. However it still flows decently. I was very careful to follow the vent specs to the letter. It's all CPVC. There is proper separation from intake to exhaust, and...

Hi jvitez, thanks for the comments, and you're very observant about the vapor barrier. Yes I did it all myself, so there are some things that should have maybe been different. I did run all the electrical inside the walls because I just didn't want conduit for all the plugs and lights etc, so...

natural gas line - cost to install

When I did mine, it was 1" yellow IPS Gastite plastic line, 250' run, with steel 30" Gastite risers using the new push and lock quick connects. Worked really easy and I did it myself. Materials cost was $400. I had a friend dig the trench with his tractor with a mini bucket. Cost me another...

It's finally working!:D All you guys were right, it is the nicest heat I've ever had, and incredibly quiet. The condensing boiler makes it very simple in the plumbing department. High delta is good in this case- 30-40* based on how fast I run the pump. Has an outdoor reset, so the burner is...

Damn, you're a lot smarter than me! Just fired up my boiler today, :D and it's running full burn right now. But it's making one gallon of condensate an hour!!!! But it's also heating up the slab beautifully. Don

Here's a little tidbit that I'm kicking myself for not doing when I had the chance. If there's any chance at all that you will be using a high effiency boiler in your setup, then run a separate piece of pex into the floor to the drain for your condensate to go. Hindsight is 20:20... Don

pex coming out of the floor - elbow size

Looks good Highbeam- If you do decide to use the temp sensor pex tube, FYI- here's the thermostat I used in my floor. http://www.pexsupply.com/Wirsbo-Uponor-A3041501-SetPoint-501s-One-stage-SetPoint-Controller-with-floor-sensor-2068000-p Includes the floor thermocouple, and uses both it and the...

pex coming out of the floor - elbow size

Noted, and when I ran my sensor tube, it goes nearly to the middle of the floor. I then extended the wiring to the thermocouple when hooking to the thermostat. Amazing how easy the wire pushes thru the pex! I was expecting more difficulty ('shootin pool with a rope' came to mind LOL)

pex coming out of the floor - elbow size

Looks to me like it would work perfectly. Mine is 20 lines- 9 loops, one thermostat line and one spare waterline, and it takes up 20" width. The 1/2" pex went into the 3/4 elbows no problem.

pex coming out of the floor - elbow size

Hi High This is what I used, seemed to work nicely- pulled over the 1/2" pex without too much issue, and it was cold! The elbows were a bit short I thought, so they were extended 6 or 8 inches with some straight pvc conduit. I then used some 3/4" electrical conduit clamps to screw to a backer...

Heated Floor to make wife happy

Go for it! I installed electric radiant floor heat in our bathroom when I renovated. It's under ceramic tile, which in the winter around here is STONE cold. Now it's a pleasure- especially in the middle of the night in my bare feet. Plenty safe too- insulated heat cable, embedded in thin...
