Should I Use a Concrete Surface Grinder or Angle Grinder on Garage Porch Slope

This is what I have...the concrete "porch" is about 6 inches deep and 12 foot long. I will probably contour the slope a little under the door seal area as well

Should I Use a Concrete Surface Grinder or Angle Grinder on Garage Porch Slope

I recently installed a 35 x 60 metal building. It has five 12 foot roll up doors. The doors are set back about 6 inches from the edge of the concrete slab. I have been having problems with water getting under the doors. I now realize that the problem is the six inch deep concrete porch in front...

    Wiring New Metal Garage

I just had a meter base and 200 amp panel fitted to my new metal building and the electrician added a 200 amp aluminum bonding ground cable from the load center ground to the metal building frame. If you have a sub panel in the garage then you need to separate the ground and neutrals in that...

Looking for a Source of RFI Suppressed 8 foot LED Shop Lights

I am looking to install twelve 8 foot LED lighting fixtures in my new 60 x 35 shop. I have looked at the Barrina lights on Amazon but I am seeing that they can cause RFI (radio frequency interference) which can interfere with wireless door openers and the FM radio. I will have both in my shop...

Intensifier Application Before or After 2 Post Lift Installation

Upon advice, I am planning on treating my new shop's concrete floor with a densifier 4500 first then Ghostshield 8505 or 8510. I am planning on having a 2 post lift installed. Should I treat the floor with densifier before or after the 2 post lift is installed ? Will the intensified floor...

    Rotary SPO12 or SPO12-Wide

I will mainly be lifting smaller vehicles. I have a 1975 MG and a 1989 S10 Blazer but I do have a 1989 C2500 extended cab, full length bed, truck. It is about 22 feet long so I think a symmetrical lift would be best for lifting the truck. If there is an issue with the pillars blocking the doors...

    Rotary SPO12 or SPO12-Wide

I am looking at the Rotary SPO12 two post lift as I have read good things about it here. I am also considering the SPO12-Wide lift as well. Are there any disadvantages going with the SPO12-Wide if I have a big enough shop?

How to troubleshoot electric garage heater?

Since I don't have this heater, I am not sure exactly how it performs in cold temps but it looks like other people may have had a similar issue to yours. I would try bypassing the thermostat and that would at least prove that the thermostat is not causing the problem. You could maybe talk to...

How to troubleshoot electric garage heater?

I would just jumper the thermostat out as a test and see if the heater cycles and can it warm up your garage.

How to troubleshoot electric garage heater?

No it looks like it needs L1 and L2 (240V) to feed it. King does sell a battery operated thermostat for these situations but it might be better to run the 3rd wire to your thermostat box

How to troubleshoot electric garage heater?

Since I was driving a 240v contactor I didn't have to worry about the power levels in the thermostat. You could fit a cheap contactor and not worry about the power levels of the thermostat. I fitted this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J4Z7QUS/?tag=atomicindus08-20 You could...

How to troubleshoot electric garage heater?

I found my new Honeywell CT410B thermostat to be very unreliable and it didn't switch off cleanly at all. I was worried that it might damage my heater so I replaced it with the King K322E ClearTouch Electronic thermostat. I think you will like this unit. It is powered by the 240V line. I am...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Last week I got my long awaited electric garage heater all hooked up but I was having problems with the cheap Honeywell mechanical thermostat. It was not switching off cleanly and was chattering my contactor. Today I replaced the thermostat with a King electronic thermostat which so far seems to...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

You will probably want to add a smoothing electrolytic capacitor cross the light as well, observing the polarity of the capacitor. If you don't the lamp won't be as bright or will fail early.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I picked up my US General rolling tool cabinets and then I spent a few hours leveling them up. My garage floor has quite a slope from the back to the front. I don't know why they build it like that. My clothes dryer packed in and I had a ratty old spare in the barn. I brought it into the...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Yesterday a buddy took me to Harbor Freight and we picked up two 44 inch US General rolling tool cabinets and a 26 inch cabinet. We got them off the collapsing pallets and into the garage. Today was spent cleaning up all the packing materials and installing a replacement contactor for the...
