    The repurposing thread

I believe that I stole this idea from the GJ and possibly from this thread. I have several benches in my shop scattered around. I keep my tools in the three roll around tool box stacks near the main bench. I got tired of walking all the way across the shop to get a wrench when needed. So I took...

    Buffer wheel ID help

Yep; 3450 rpm. Took 38 seconds to slow/stop. Sounds like the consensus is that these are knife sharpener wheels. Since I'll never use them for that off they come to be relegated to some drawer where they will never be seen again.

    Buffer wheel ID help

I'll look the next time I go to my shop but I'm pretty sure it's 3450 rpm.

b-t-w; if anyone can educate me on how to delete duplicate pix I'd be most appreciative.

    Cleaning Hand Tools

"Missing one of the little connector pieces on the small one. Where's a guy find one of those?" At the risk of sounding like an a$$hole (which I'm trying to avoid) I'm afraid those things might be made of unobtainium. You might be able to find one only in your basement machine shop. You do have...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

On these magnetic hooks I agree with emeraldcoupe; these get a pass. The one I use the most is the one on the side of my sandblast cabinet that I hang earmuffs on. My compressor is very near the blast cabinet and it is nice to have the hearing protection right there at my fingertips. I can't say...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

I have 12 angle grinders. Ten of them are H-F. All kinds; very cheap to the "good stuff". I have no complaints on any of them. By having this many I (almost) never have to change out the wheels/stones on them. Just put one down and pick up another one. Most of them run towards the cheap side...

    Buffer wheel ID help

I did this on a phone and can't delete duplicate pix. I'll fix it when I get to the desktop. EDIT: Even on a desktop I can't delete duplicates so please just accept my apologies and keep on keepin' on.

    Buffer wheel ID help

I bought this buffer at an estate sale today. The 3/4 hp motor runs great and takes a LONG time to slow/stop. I'm 73 years old and have never had a buffer before. This thing will do everything I want to do in the years I have left. I plan to buy cloth/rag wheels to put on it. All that aside can...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

Bought a battery powered LED magnetic shop trouble light recently. 63766. Had occasion to use it today. Definite pass. Stuck it to the under side of the hood (base is magnetic) and it lit up the engine very well. Probably better than any of my other trouble lights. This thing was on sale with...

    Center drill bits

Thanks everyone. This has been very enlightening for me. I've learned several things I never knew. For instance, I'd never heard of a "spotting bit." I've also learned quite a few sources that I wasn't aware of.

    Center drill bits

I use a center drill bit only occasionally; probably once a month or so. Not very often. I've got a couple of center drill bits that came to me used. Now that I have them I see their usefulness. It's time to replace the dull ones that I have. I use them to start a hole when otherwise I'd be...

    Titebond II solvent???

I've got new Titebond ordered from Amazon. It'll be here in a couple of days. Thank you ALL for your responses. Please let this thread die.

    Titebond II solvent???

I don't have any attitude. Some folks would rather tell you what to do (advise) than to answer a simple question. And folks are still giving advice. Thank you ALL for your responses. Please let this thread die. Next trip to town will include buying new Titebond.

    Titebond II solvent???

Sorry but I didn't see where it says to thin with water. NOTE: I fully expect to buy a new bottle next time I go to town. My question was more of an experiment/learning exorcise than "I have to use this up before I replace it." Thanks to everyone who read this.

    Titebond II solvent???

Thanks for all of your unrequested advice about buying new. I asked if there is a solvent.

    Titebond II solvent???

I use wood glue very infrequently. I currently have a 16 fl. oz. bottle of Titebond II that is about half used and it's getting really thick. Slow to come out. Hard to clean the tip after use. Etc. I imagine this bottle is 10 - 20 years old. Is there anything I can add to the remaining glue to...
