If you had air I would say surface prep hands down. But since you don't find an abrasive wheel and/or wire wheel for an electric handheld grinder.

I've seen one affixed to the battery box on an Oshkosh but all you do is dip it in one cell and a small green LED turns on at the top. I've never seen ones that goes from cell to cell. If you want I could most likely find out some more info on that paticular type.

I used to have a decent set of KD tools in my military shop, I never had any problems with them. Now that 4-5 years have gone by KD seems to be going downhill. This itself is about as much evidence I need not to look any further into buying their stuff.

The power probe will double as a test light, and man are those things awesome. I'd suggest looking into an adapter kit for all the male/female electrical pins you'll run into and need to test along with a quality multimeter as mentioned earlier.

Which trucks will you mainly be working on? I couldn't live without my 3/4" drive set, big pry bars, and cheater pipes. If you're getting into hydraulics the 4-way wrenches are awesome. Strong power tools, brake tools, and big hex keys. That's about all I can think of for now.
