    Door cable bracket bent

Yeah, if someone installed that for you have them come back and replace the bent stuff and install all the fasteners.

Tools Made Or Modified For The Job

Many years ago I was working on a bicycle and my adjustable wrench would not open enough to loosen a nut. I added a grove to the jaw.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

This has been in our family since I can remember, I made some aluminum jaws for it for my welding table. I let it sit in the parts cleaner for a week to remove the paint/grease and just buffed it with a wire wheel. Not going to paint it, stuff does not rust in the shop.

    The repurposing thread

I converted this Craftsman 90 degree drill to use a lithium ion battery. We had done this to one of my wife’s small leaf blowers but she bought a new one so this stuff was available. I don’t know how much life is left in the battery but it will do for now. We hardly ever use the old obsolete...

Ceiling Cassette Heat Pump Line Set Noises

Yep, they make a different sound while defrosting, when our Mitsubishi's did it I was a little curious but didn't really worry about it. I installed a Mr Cool last summer and it has a df on the display when it makes the noise.

I installed a 24000 BTU DYI single head last summer, here's the drain hose that came with it. Looks like about 11/16".

    Belt or Disc Sander Recommendations?

I bought this because it had 1 HP and at the time was inexpensive. As much as I use it I'm looking to upgrade. Of course it's made in China.

Why is a standard set of annular cutters comprised of such weird sizes?

I have a cheap mag drill and an adapter for my drill press. I bought an inexpensive kit and then purchased the 1/2,5/8 and 3/4 inch bits.

Mini Split. . Are you happy?

I've had a two head Mitsubishi working in a living space that we installed in 2014. It has heated and cooled flawlessly. Last summer I installed a 24000 BTU Mr Cool DIY in my 26x56' attached garage. It has also worked very well, we've had zero degree temps but I really don't ever want my...

    DIY Tubing Straightener

Made this for brake lines, its two pieces of 1x2" channel and the wheels are for sliding doors. I need to change the 1/4 inch bolts to 3/8". The 1/4" bolts flex too much.

This old guy is also 28" long, mostly used to stabbing the moles my wife flushes out with the hose.

Stainless exhaust fab for TIG...pie cutting options?

This is what I use, I also have a bench top belt sander for small adjustments. I've been buying my 2.5" stainless systems on Amazon. The price keeps going up and this system is sometimes unavailable so I always keep a one as a backup. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LYQ2IYC/?tag=atomicindus08-20

It was my birthday today and my SIL made me an adapter so I can use my annular bits in my drill press. I don't use the bits pilot pin, we made one out of a 1/4 inch bolt so once a 1/4 inch pilot hole is drilled into the steel a little the pin keeps the bit from walking. It also has a spring in...

    Box cutters versus utility knives?

When I got out of High School (1976) I was a night stocker at a grocery store. This is the box knife I used for 5 years while attending college. The reason it's so shiny is because I was building a 1955 F100 at the time and the knife got into the box of stuff I was taking to the chrome shop...
