    Utility trailer frame restoration

Totally agree, I like POR15 because it's an epoxy, it takes moisture to dry. If I'm going to use a rattle can and it's going to be black I paint over the POR15 while it's tacky. This way I get a chemical bond rather than a physical one.

    Help with smoke detectors

This, I just had to replace my hardwired detectors, when I listened to the peeps and read the label they needed replaced. They all did it with in a day.

    Utility trailer frame restoration

Totally agree, I rebuilt my snowmobile trailer and started poking it with a pick and found this. I don't have any before pictures but these are the after. The trailer is a 1987.

Looking for new utility trench compaction/backfill tips

Put all utilities in the bottom of the trench and "pad" the trench by hand shoveling back fill gently by hand. Once the utilities are padded back fill. I would also install an empty conduit with sweeps (not 90s) for future use. After looking closer at the pictures I really don't see any rocks...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Modified this thing today so I can make long narrow cuts. Takes about 10 or 15 minutes to change it back.

Did this last night to cut out a new shifter gate for my side by side. I don't know if this is a total repurpose though.

So everyone says get a Honda Mower...

My wife did the lawns, we just sold the rentals and the mowers are now sitting in a shed. My wife likes doing gardening/landscaping so our rentals never looked like rentals. Now she's volunteering at a cemetery to fill her need of gardening.

So everyone says get a Honda Mower...

I bought two of these brand new in the 80s, both are still running every week at rentals and these are the best mowers ever made. The aluminum deck is made so much better than even the HRA214 which has a steel deck. It will pack the bag to the point it's hard to get the clippings out. Back...

    Welding Setup?

If fire is a conserve I would learn to TIG weld, no sparks, and usually no grinding. I put a vise outside for grinding, it cuts down on dust in the shop and the chance of starting a fire is nil. I also found you can make drawers out of steel easier than wood, my welding table has six 30" deep...

    Garage / Workbench Photos?

Built these in 2009, added onto the garage so the big cabinet on the right had to remain in the old garage. They are plywood boxes with melamine face frames, doors and bench top. Here's what they look like today. The cabinets were a catch all so I added these drawers.

    ***** garden hose

How do you uncoil your hoses? IMO you would have to stand them up like a wheel and roll them out, other wise no matter how good the hose is it will be stressed and end up with weak points that will lead to kinks.

    ***** garden hose

Figure eight your hose or use a reel, never coil a hose.

Looking for a leaf blower bracket

This is my wife's leaf blower, I welded a piece of 3/8s threaded rod to a piece of 1/2 x 1/8" inch flat stock. Drilled a couple holes in the flat stock and screwed them to a piece of plywood and then screwed it to the wall. I covered the threaded rod with some old air line and put a 3/8s nut...

Looking for a leaf blower bracket

It looks like the leaf blower is a little wider towards the rear, how about something like ours.

Why am I the only one in my neighborhood to pay for a backflow test every year?

Where this is required the amount of failed backflow valves per 1000 should be available to the public. I have a feeling it's a very small (maybe zero) number.
