I don't have any experience with this meter but you might want to consider a meter that measures DC through the clamp if you ever want to use it for automotive or electronics. It will cost more than the HF one but the DC clamp is so much easier to use...

I would avoid using .035 in any 120V welder. It draws too much amperage and taxes the machine beyond its capabilities. It will seem like it's working fine until it stops working.

I considered buying one online since all the local stores are out of stock but wanted to be sure they were available before I pulled the trigger. I called HF sales and the woman I spoke to told me they are on at least 30 day back order.
