Craftsman tool chest combo, great deal?

I also have one of these limited edition lower rollers. Only gripe I have, like others, is the "self closing" drawers. They close abruptly and shake around all the stuff in the drawer. The heavier its loaded, the less effect it has. Its an acceptable trade off considering the low price and...

You could also use a saws-all. Cut it a little bit short and use a dremel or file to the final dimensions.

    Heat Pump Water heater?

I installed mine today... the Geospring 2. I put it in the basement with my furnace. The install went smoothly... it is heavy though! I can't believe how much water it has already generated (I put a bucket at the output temporarily). Very happy,... though it is only day one.

    Heat Pump Water heater?

Interesting info. My local lowes had several of the new model, plus one of the old (on clearance). I just assumed the new one would be better. Maybe its not so clear.

    Heat Pump Water heater?

I'm pretty sure they (or at least, the new Geospring-2 units) have a porcelain coated steel tank though I can't find it listed in the manual. Hmm.

    Transporting a 80Gal Air Compressor?

When I brought home my 60-gal Champion (400-500lbs as well) four guys lifted it into the back of a pickup. We had two on top, two on the ground, and we took off the tailgate. We kept it standing up the whole journey - with enough straps it didn't move at all.

    Heat Pump Water heater?

Hey guys, any updates on these Geospring units after a year or more in service? I see the new models are out and available at the local Lowes and Sears for $1000. Our utility has a $400 rebate. So not as sweet a deal as some, but still not too shabby! I am replacing a 15 year old oil fired...

Champion compressors are still made in the USA. Not sure if they make something that small however.

    Homade Shop Press Tooling

Hey cool-guy, I noticed your press is mounted on wheels. How do you like that? I could use some wheels on mine for storage but am concerned about stability during use.

Anyone collect green or red handle Craftsman screwdrivers?

Didn't the red handled ones comes in the loose bin back in the 90's when Craftsman Club ran the $0.99 screwdriver promotions? I think I have a few.

    Safe prep for basement floor?

I have about 280 sq ft of space for my basement workshop. The walls are drywalled and painted, but the floor is bare concrete. I'd like to do an epoxy coating - possibly Rustoleum - but I'm afraid that I won't be able to do the acid etch or grinding that is required. How good are the Benjamin...

HF $239 horizontal/vertical metal band saw

I have the same saw, but its JET white and cost $300 a few years ago. I did enough internet reading to convinced myself that paying extra to buy the JET would give me a unit that passed tighter quality control standards. I'm not sure if that was true, or not, but its been a decent little saw...

    Who's got lathes?

Well, I can tell you what NOT to buy. Don't get a 3-in-1 machine! Mine was super-cheap (and worn out) so I was willing to accept the many sacrifices, but if you're serious about machining then you should probably spend a little more up front and get what you really want. Here is my machine...
