Miller Multimatic 215 vs Lincoln Power Mig 210MP

There's definitely a difference in the duty cycle but, and this is just my opinion, if you're buying one of these machines that are geared toward the hobbyist and you're regularly hitting the duty cycle limit, you probably need a bigger machine.

Miller Multimatic 215 vs Lincoln Power Mig 210MP

Oh, I wasn't aware that Lincoln had it. I knew Miller's had it for years now. Really, both machines are great for the price, it almost comes down to your favorite color.

Miller Multimatic 215 vs Lincoln Power Mig 210MP

Having used both Miller and Lincoln machines in the past, if the price is the same, I vote Miller. Also, I believe the Miller has a better duty cycle at lower voltage settings, as well as Autoset, which the Lincoln doesn't have. Also, the Miller MDX-100 is more comfortable to me for longer...

    The DeWalt Addiction Thread

Do someone was actually jealous of my Dewalt collection today. My dad (who introduced me to Dewalt tools when I was about 7) stopped by to borrow a tool, and happened to see my drill, 3 impacts, 2 angle grinders, bench grinder, palm sander, and sawzall, all Dewalt. So of course, he said I had...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Got the rear main seal in my 351W today. Also started putting together pistons and rods. Got all the pistons on rods and assigned to their respective bores. Didn’t have time to gap the rings and install them. Still need to check rod journal bearing clearance too. Some of the wrist pins didn’t...

    The DeWalt Addiction Thread

Agreed. I might pick up another one if they go on sale somewhere, but it would be one of the lower amp ones with a paddle switch. I could use one more, that way one can be for cutting (most likely would be the new 11 amp one), one for grinding, and one for wire wheeling.

Makita 3/8 impact sockets how are they??

Been using them a lot on my DCF890. They’re the only sockets I have that fit tightly on the hog ring. I haven’t had any issues with them as far as fit, finish, and durability. Definitely worth $15.

How to organize numerous dies and taps

Depending on how many taps and dies you actually have, and depending on how much you want to spend on storage solutions, you can use one of these nuts and bolts bins. I have 2 of them and they're great for organizing stuff like this on the cheap...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Finished up the bench grinder stand and got the bench grinder on it. Also finished the belt sander stand but didn’t get it mounted. Also welded a patch panel in on my F150 so that my door seals actually seal.

So in that case, I’d still go for full penetration, but then dress the welds with a flap wheel.

I’d say go for quality looking welds with proper speed and penetration. I wouldn’t wanna get in the habit of rushing through welding just because what I’m working on at that particular might not be structural. Just because something isn’t structural or non load bearing doesn’t mean it can’t fail...
