    The DeWalt Addiction Thread

Oh, yeah I know there's plenty out there. I'm just trying to find something that fits tightly on the DCF890. My current sockets aren't tight on the hog ring.

Of course I looked up Makita 3/8 drive impact socket sets after seeing this and they're OOS everywhere

Yeah one thing I’m realizing from using it tonight is that I’m not used to a friction ring on the anvil, I’ve always had a ball detent. Not sure if it’s cause of the sockets which weren’t impact sockets, but they seemed to come off really really easy, easier than expected. When I have time, I’m...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Hoisted my engine block out of the trunk of the car and got it back on the stand.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Unpackaged my new Dewalt DCF890, added another Dewalt tool hanger for it, and put a few tools away from the weekend.

Yeah I really wish Dewalt would try and compete with Milwaukee more on the mechanic, plumbing and electrical market. Don’t get me wrong, Dewalt has some great stuff and quite a few cordless tools, but they’re only up to 80 I believe whereas Milwaukee is up to like 200 or something, at least...

I wouldn’t have guessed that it’s the same exact tool, just a different output chuck. You would think Dewalt would want their 3/8” impact to have a torque rating somewhere between the torque of the 1/4” and the 1/2”, maybe something around 250ft-lbs, that would compete with something like the...

Do You Still Use Your Shop Air Compressor?

I’ve been using mine less recently because I’ve acquired a few more cordless tools. But when it comes to breaking some of the rusty bolts I’ve encountered on my F150, I’ve been extremely happy to have my compressor and air impact. Mine will stay cause even if I go fully cordless, I still plan...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Replaced all the bulbs in the shop lights with new 4100k LED T12s, also put some bracing between the ceiling joists and then mounted the lights to those to get some more headroom. Got about 6” more space below the lights. Also put together and packed this Commander shelf that I grabbed at...

    Show me your service cart.

Just picked this up last week from HF. It’s nice to be able to roll almost everything out to the car or truck instead of going back and forth from the garage. Only thing I changed was adding two more swivel casters. It’s a little harder to push in a straight line but completely manageable even...

    Saw horses

So I have the same sawhorses except I got mine from Lowe’s so they’re Kobalt but the design seems to be exactly the same. I highly recommend them. Just don’t use them to hold something while you weld. Accidentally melted the plastic on to putting down some tacks

Just ordered the DCF890M2 kit. Should here Tuesday. Amazon has it $43 cheaper than Home Depot right now, which is the only place that has it in stock near me. Thought about just grabbing the tool for $157 but it works out to be 2 4AH and another charger for another $143 which really isn’t that...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Replaced a spark plug and coil pack on my parents’ Ford Edge to fix a misfire. Then organized some more tools in my tool cart. Trying to get to where the cart has almost everything I really need is in it and is in there in a organized manner, letting me use the other 2 box sets to hold the less...

Steel Prices are on the rise!!!

Yeah I was quite surprised when I paid $14 for a 14” piece of 1.5”x2.5” rectangle tube, .080” wall. I just ordered 4 pieces of 3/16” plate, 12”x12” and that was $95 and some 3.5” square tube, 3/16” wall was just under $105. I still haven’t gotten the 3.5” sauté tube either. Still waiting on that.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Swapped some casters on my tool cart and engine stand, cleaned up a bunch of metal chips from the other day, and finally organized all my sockets. It kinda annoys me that the casters on my tool cart are mismatched but they didn’t have black in stock and I won’t about to pay an extra $35 just to...

Yeah the 9s are nice for battery life but they’re just too heavy. I’d really just like 2 of the 5s or 6s, that would be plenty for me. The reason I’m holding it that way is because.....I don’t actually have a reason. And no, she got it off Amazon. It was the same price there as it was at Home...

The 1/2 impact my wife got me for Christmas and the bench grinder I bought myself. Along with an extra battery I bought. Plus my 1/4” impact, 1/2” drill, and work light. Not pictured is my corded 4 1/2” angle grinder and all my Dewalt drill and bit kits. Still wanna get another grinder but a...

Yeah I thought it was weird when I saw it too. At least the tools are what I needed. But yeah, I could totally see someone getting a little pissed after buying these based on the description and not looking too closely. Also, my Evolution S355CPSL showed up today. Can’t wait to use it.
