Needed a new grinder after killing my little 7 amp Dewalt. Picked up a 9 amp Dewalt with a paddle switch. Also grabbed a few small things from Northern Tool.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Bolted on and welded on sound D-rings on my new welding cart I’m building so I can secure two bottles in the future.

Awesome. Definitely post back what happens. You can never be too qualified as a tradesman. Just makes it easier to find work in the long run.

    Nitrile glove source?

Amazon has been the best bet lately. HF sometimes has them in stock but they’re still close to $20 a box. I think I paid $70 for 4 boxes of some 8mil and 13mil nitrile gloves.

Got my welding cart on its wheels. Also got the supports on for the bottle rack. Got the lip around the top shelf welded on, still need to do the center shelf. I got 5’ of 3/4” steel tubing, .062” wall coming in this week that I hope I can bend into a handle without a large tubing bender...

Yeah it’s been great since it came yesterday. Been looking for any reason to weld lol and apparently Miller has come a long way with the headgear. It’s quite comfy and holds the helmet in place very well. Also, this Gearwrench 15/16 Reversible ratchet wrench showed up today.

    Welding helmet choices

So my Digital Infinity showed up today. After messing around with it in the garage, I’m very happy with my purchase. The resting shade is more than light enough, especially compared to my Instapark which has a resting shade of 4. While there’s a slight green tint, there’s way less than on my...

My Miller Digital Infinity showed up today. Good grief what a huge step in quality and clarity compared to my $80 welding helmet.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Kept working on my welding cart. Got the bottle rack 90% done, just need to add two supports.

Made a fair amount of progress on my welding cart. It’s 18”x24”, 3 shelves 12” apart with my current welder going on the top. Then there’ll be a 10”x18” shelf on the rear that’ll be capable of holding two bottles, should I ever get a Tig welder, multiprocess welder or spool gun. And it’ll be...

    Beginner Welder

If you have the option to buy a 125 with a 75/25 fill, you’re lucky and you should do it. The welding supply stores around me will only let you buy up to an 80, everything larger than that is rent only. That being said, depending on the amount of welding you plan on doing, an 80 lasts longer...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Started welding together the shelves for my welding cart that I’m building since I had about an hour to myself when I got off work.

So cost wise, if you're also considering either the Miller 211 or the Lincoln 210 MP, a more accurate comparison would be the Miller 211 to the Lincoln 180 cost wise, and the Miller 215 to the Lincoln MP. Personally between those two brands, I will almost always vote blue. Now between the two...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Started cutting metal for my welding cart. Gonna need to grab a piece of 1 1/4” angle iron. Accidentally cut one mitre backwards. It’s gonna be a decent amount bigger than the cart that came with my Miller. 3 shelves 18x24, 10” between shelves, 5” casters from HF, and a bottle tray that’ll hold...
