    Pulled this out of the scrap box, The main bar was so badly bent that the jaw could not move. A couple rounds with the hydraulic press helped some. Then shaving the top edge with the belt sander did the trick. Finished with some gun blueing. This one has patent dates of 7-6-1880 & 7-8-1884. It...

    Vintage Combination Square

    More square fun. Looking to I.D. scribe in photos 3 &4. In photo 5 top 2 are Starrett. Left side is the unknown. Right side is Athol MCH Co. The bottom one is Union Tool. The Union tool square is non metallic . Aluminum? Also the unknown scribe in photo 1 is the square with no rule (6").

    My best guess so far - United States-Quartermaster Corps. Feeler gauge with .055 & .062 settings. Maybe spark plug gap? For Jeep? Would that be a gap range or 2 different settings? Any further info? Thanks OAL 2 3/4”

    Rare piece

    Well we certainly got some fun replies . It's a Hinge- Mortiser. Pat# 379076. James M. Mathews Mar. 6 1888. I think it was used as a marking tool not for fully mortising. Also for locks on drawers. Maybe it walked out of the Kittinger Furniture factory.
