Drilling and anchoring 2 post lifts

I have 4'x4'x8" thick footings under my posts. I scrapped the 5.5" anchors that were included with the lift and went with some 7.5" anchors. I drilled all the way through my 8" footings, hammered the anchor in leaving about 3/4" above the baseplate and torqued them down. To get the dust out, I...

    2 post lifts,info,opinions,etc...

Whip is by far IMO the best value in lifts today. Components, Welds, and finish are leaps and bounds better than the marginally cheaper chinese lifts.

    2 post lifts,info,opinions,etc...

Gemini, Worth, and Whip Industries (I bought a WAS10). They should be all about the same price. The reasons for the extra few hundred bucks is obvious when you see a Whip and a Chinese lift side by side. PM me with any questions.

    2 post lifts,info,opinions,etc...

There are atleast 3 American lift makers out of Texas. All of which build nicer lifts than all of the chinese import ****. They are between $400 to $700 more than the import lifts but well worth the extra money. My friend cheaped out and bought a Direct lift and the power unit looks like...

    Scissor Truss?

I have scissor trusses in my shop. I have 11' walls and 2x12 on the inside which makes the peak almost 14'. If I remember correctly, they were about 10% more than a standard truss. I chose the scissor for added height for a 2 post lift. So far I am happy with it and most people who see it...

    4 post lifts...Yes, I did a search

Worth 4 post lifts are made/manufactured/welded/painted.....in America. Might be an option....I know when its my time for a 4 post I will be buying the ProPark 8s (on the cheap) or a Worth ($2850 shipped). The Worth however doesnt come with any accessories but I am sure you can negotiate...

    2 post lift installed

It was delivered Dec 27th or 28th. I told my buddy the same thing I did you and he went ahead and bought a Direct lift 10k and 12k..... I am not selling them or trying to make a deal...but I have seen a Bendpak next to a Whip and it was evident which one was better built/finished. And the Whip...

    2 post lift installed

I bought mine for pennies more than $3000 shipped through one of their dealers. I called them(Whip) directly to double check and I was assured the WAS10 is entirely manufactured in Texas using American steel.....the only offshore parts are the cables. I can forward you the Dealers name if you...

    2 post lift installed

For $250 more and a drive to Dallas you could have bought an American made 10k Whip lift. Its too bad Whip doesnt advertise more because their stuff is by far the nicest lift <$3000.

    Epoxy over J20?

Just curious if I can epoxy my new shop floor over J20 sealer?.... My concrete contractor sprayed my slab with J20 last summer before my building went up. Its now covered and ready for epoxy IF it will stick.... Can I just wash with Muriatic acid then epoxy as usual or do I have to do...

So I am going to look at some 4 post lifts tomorrow, what to ask?

Depending on your budget but Worth makes a nice American Made 4 post lift....the same guys that weld the 100 000lb lifts weld the 7000lb lifts. I recently purchased a Whip Industries (American)2 post and went and looked at my buddies new Direct Lift(Chinese) 2 post and there is NO...

    shop stereo ideas

I bought an older NAD receiver off Craigslist ($75)and then some Klipsch (KSF 8.5) and going to mount then in the corners. There is nothing like working on a car with a shop filled with music.... if you are going to spend some time in the shop, make the stereo worth listening to.

Drilling into concrete - 3/4 hole - basic hammer drill enough

I just installed my Whip 2 post lift. I borrowed by friends big *** Hitachi hammer drill. I had to spend $48 to buy a new 3/4" splined bit but it was worth every penny. I didnt want to chance making an over sized hole when using wedge style anchors. I say either rent or borrow and GOOD hammer...

Bendpak HD9 in or near Dallas, TX?

Ever consider a Worth lift? They apparently make a 9000lb lift around the same price as the Bendpak. Might be something to consider.... http://www.worthequipment.com/ Perry p.s....I should mention that I am obviously new, not affiliated with any lift maker....but did just purchase a Whip...
