    Newbee looking for some suggestions!!!

I don't think it's a bad idea, in the future you could still build a house and the apartment above the garage could be used as a guest house. I would keep it minimal though.

What do you use your basements for?

Laundry and Storage, including a lot of tools. One day I'll get around to posting picks of my garage and then you will see why I keep my tools in the basement. If I ever get around to it, I'd like to put an office in the basement. Just a place isolated from the rest of the house so I can...

My new shop is almost done

I've been wanting that Weber setup for years. Right now I just make due with the silver series but man I would like those ash cans. Do they work as good as they would appear to?

TAftw's Garage Thread: It's about time!

I love these types of threads. It's much more fun to see the process from the beginning rather than just pics of finished product.

    Need help with Variance...

I apologize if what I suggest is already known to you but I thought I would offer up what I have found going through my variance application. From what I can gather, no matter what jurisdiction you reside in, successfully gaining a variance takes a lot of preparation, organization and most of...

    The cuckoo's nest

Ct, I'm curious what did you use to line the inside of those form panels? Did you do this because you would be reusing the wood in your build and wanted an easy cleanup? If so, how was the result? By the way, your place does have a ton of character. I'm subscribing for sure. Side note...

If you have a mac, ipod touch/iphone/ipad, read up on: http://www.apple.com/itunes/whats-new/#airplay Airplay has changed my life, anywhere I go in my house/garage I have my "theme" music at my fingertips. If you already have some speakers with power, a $99 airport would be the cheapest...

20x17 or 17x20 or even larger? (long)

The parking spot would be for my wife, she drives a small suv (Ford Escape) anything bigger can stay in the driveway. One limitation of the 17' depth is it is not quite deep enough to open the rear hatch within the garage.

20x17 or 17x20 or even larger? (long)

My first post here and I'm looking for thoughts from those who have smaller size garages (20x20 or smaller) I have an old detached garage 20x17 (width x depth), that is basically falling apart, rotten sills dirt floor, taken over by varmits, the whole nine. I would like to tear it down and...
