I was wondering if any Mac Tool experts could give me an idea of when this model of Mac box was built/sold? I scoured the unit with drawers out even, to check it inside out for a model # at least. No luck. Im going to clean it good first before I decide on my plan, but I know I will have to...

    Vintage Craftsman Tool Chest Restoration

Picked up a 1950's series 2 draw chest at a yard sale. Sheet metal was very straight and the drawers functioned fine. Soaked the hardware in vinegar and finished them on a wire wheel. Applied phosphoric acid with a brush to the sheet metal rust and used a wire wheel on my drill to remove all...

Any Opinions On The Craftsman Quick-Wrench?

Ran into a set of SAE Craftsman Quick-Wrenches or as they say ratchet wrenches at a local Restore Store.. I heard of them before but never had the opportunity to use one. The price was right ($6) so I bit on the set. Any of you have an opinion on their usefulness? Are they a keeper or a...

I hope you don't mind me asking MShaw. I see where the button screws are sold in packs of 100. I only need 15 for my box. Would you have left extra screws that you would want to sell 15-20?

Craftsman 1/2" Ratchet Anvil With Quick Release Needed

I picked up a Craftsman ratchet in need of TLC. The button in the anvil that activates the quick release is missing. Does anyone have such an anvil for sale. The ratchet works fine otherwise. Can one just replace the release button, spring, and detent ball if available?

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Restored My Rusty Beat Up Garage Sale Find. A couple weeks ago I posted a picture of this $10 rusty box in an attempt to find the maker or build time era. No markings on the box, not a Snap On I'm told and the most likely from me looking at pictures is a Vulcan made by MBC, but I could handle...

Is This A Snap On Box? If So, How Old?

I picked this box up today quite cheap (you can see why) with the knowledge on how much work will be necessary to make bit respectable. The drawers slid good, thats what sold me. I was unable to see any badging, but Im sure the original paint was red from my inspection. Metal is heavy gauge...

Husky 22800P 3/8 Black Ratchet Repair?

So I stopped in at HD and they were more than gracious at exchanging my 3/8 professional ratchet. The pawl had actually cracked in two pieces when I examined it. They gave me another of their professional models to take home, the one with 144 teeth, 2.5 degree movement. I opened it up because...

In the last 3 months I have been running into craftsman bench grinders on marketplace. I don't need three, but the prices were so good I couldn't turn them down. I ended up putting fiber wheels, buffer wheels, wire wheels and grind wheels on them and now I never have to switch wheels. All...

Husky 22800P 3/8 Black Ratchet Repair?

So I picked up a Husky 22800P 3/8 ratchet for repair. I was told that Stanley made these, but I could be wrong. Dissassembly shows the pawl is cracked and the teeth on the anvil/gear have areas of chipping. My question is should I just pitch it, or are there rebuild kits for these? Will Home...
