Which is the best 1/2 air impact gun in the market, Ingersoll Rand 2135Ti Max?

I'm not going to argue all the flow specs but the couplers and hose diameters do make a difference. As well as the actual line pressure. I would bet most shops are running 175psi straight off the compressor. That is a big difference to the small home compressors at 120-135ish psi. But you can...

Replacing and modifying HF or NT hose reel for more flow

Changing your hose couplers to a high flow like the Milton Type V will help a lot. Here is a link to a pic and info

    Air line couplers

I switched to the Milton Type V, and there is a noticeable difference. Here is a link to a pic and description To be more precisely accurate...the Type V male will not fit a standard Type M female coupler, because the Type V is bigger. But the Type V female coupler will accept a 1/4 Type M...

Blue Point High Flow Air Line Fittings

There is a difference, I haven't tried the BluePoint. But I do have the Milton Type V. Here is a link to a description and the pic of them.

    CFM through Quick Connects

Link to thread and pic here I took a pic of the Milton Type V coupler next to the standard 1/4 Type M. The brass is the standard 1/4 Type M, and the other is the Type V, it's a noticeable difference. They are available in 1/4 Npt threads and the 3/8 Npt(recommended). And of course in male and...

    Compressor Hose + Fittings

The red is most common, I don't know the specs of the yellow. More chemical resistant maybe? I would also recommend at least 3/8 ID hose with 3/8 NPT fittings for better flow. The Flexilla is nice and lightweight, but they do like to coil a lot. As long as it's at least 3/8 ID I would have no...

    Compressor Hose + Fittings

I would recommend the Milton High flow Type V couplers, also Goodyear hose too. Check around for hose. Last time I was at Harbor Freight they had a good selection of Goodyear hose. Just make sure you grab the Goodyear. Or just drop ship the hose from online somewhere. You could always cut a 50'...

    The "pedestrian" garage

I'm liking those diamond plated shop lights and cover plates. Where would a guy find some like that? I need to add a little bling after I paint, so I'm looking for ideas.

My new almost dream shop 25x32

Yep from Greg Smith, I caught a new model on sale for a couple hundred off. The trusses are a parallel chord truss 24" on center with 5/12 up top and like 3.5/12 on the bottom chord. With required lateral bracing. It gives me a finish peak height inside of about 13'6. They are a standard 2x4...

Minimum Ceiling Height for Lift Use (I tried searching)

I would also agree on the 12' 6" minimum for a standard 2 post. But there are other 2 post like the Mohawk stated that would work fine. There is also the MaxxJak and other similar models. I think 11' ceiling for one of those would be adequate. But if your worried about the door height...then you...

    Air Reels on Lift Posts?

Yep drill and tap is what I would do. Otherwise just a regular thru bolt should work fine. At the top of the post there isn't really anything moving to interfere with on most lifts. Of course look at your lift fully raised and see what kinda clearance you have.

    Westinghouse 2YC Compressor Rebuild

That pressure switch looks identical to the one I have on mine. Except the cover was like an olive green. I sprayed it and got rid of the old ugly look.

Router newbie question fixed base and plunge

Yea...put a different base on it, a plunge base. I bought a router that came with a fixed and a plunge. Best of both worlds. Is there a different base that would fit it...that would be a question for Craftsman.

Just a little edition to the compressor. Finished up my new 3/4" valve and air manifold. Sure flows some good high volume air.

    Westinghouse 2YC Compressor Rebuild

Yep...good idea scrap the tank. A blow at 100+ psi could be very bad. I was putting a new 3/4" valve on mine along with an air manifold. Had the valve on and a couple of Tee's, one end of 2nd Tee wide open. Aired it up full to 175psi to check valve and for leaks etc. I cracked that valve open...

    french drain help needed

Depending on your abilities...excavating can be done just fine with no experience. I rented a mini excavator having never actually operated one before other than driving one off a trailer. Then proceeded to excavate around my parents house to do some foundation repair and water proofing. But I...

    french drain help needed

A mini excavator would make an easy job of it, and allow you to push the dirt back in also. Most are available with a 9" bucket.

Compression - Show Off Your Compressor

I was randomly searching CL and ran across this IR 5hp 14cfm 60gal. It was a thurs night and located about an hour away. I jumped in the truck to go look at it. The owner was asking too much and we settled about $50 apart. My top offer was $250 less than his asking price. I thanked him and left...
