    Stihl & Husqvarna chainsaws

I had a sweet little Stihl 026 Pro that I foolishly sold before we moved across the country, along with a 8500 watt generator, just to reduce our overall shipping weight. Have more than once wished I would've kept the 026 Pro. 😞 And now wish I would've replaced it with the MS 260 Pro; but I...

    Craftsmanomania?

Well that's really good to know! (y) By 'email them', are you emailing Sears or Stanley Black&Decker directly?

    Armstrong Combo Wrenches w/e.g. # 25-*** - were made when & where ?

Hello, and thanks for any and all replies. Wondering when & where the last series [i.e. 25-***] of Armstrong standard 6pt & 12pt, 'full polish' combo wrenches were made? Were they during the Danaher-owned period, or before, or after? I've seen the Alloy-Artifacts & ToolArchives .com's, but...

    Remember your PPE

The first thing I thought of when I read 'pink'...was to wonder if you somehow got a little shard of insulation in your eye.

    Craftsmanomania?

I concur, from a very similar experience; all of my Dad's Cman tools were from the 1950's & 60's. I used to love going to Sears with him—throughout the 60's—on Saturday mornings while he browsed the tool dept. Perhaps, for me, because I mostly loved the aroma and taste of the popcorn. 🤤 I also...

    Rigid LSA

I pretty much have the exact same situation, with having all my recent Rigid receipts—and LSA registration confirmations—over the last several years, but I'm not seeing my receipt for a 2014/15 purchase of an 18v Drill/Driver + Impact Driver Combo Kit. But I see that I also created an online...

    Armstrong metric Tappet Wrenches wanted

Looking for a metric set of Armstrong Tappet Wrenches; or individual Armstrong Tappet wrenches in metric. I have the 3-Pc Armstrong SAE Tappet Wrench Set (# P5-223), but as yet don't know the #'s associated with the metric Tappet Wrench Set, as it appears that there's no longer an Armstrong...

So... are Meijer and Tekton parting ways?

Just noticed it a couple days ago when I accidentally strolled into the Meijer tool isle, for the first time since prob last autumn. What a surprise; like elsewhere from the sounds of it, it was entirely a yellow & black 'chinese stanley stuff' sitch-e-yation as well, in only half the space that...

Craftsman Hand Tool Manufacturers & Date Ranges

Oh Okay! I see what you mean. Thanks for explaining ;-) So the elongated hex is just for housing the spring clip.

Craftsman Hand Tool Manufacturers & Date Ranges

Thx. I must've found it somewhere then, as I don't recall having any bits with that shape at their base. Nor any bits that came with a socket like it. Also haven't found anything re 'L-AE 44573' via online searches.

Craftsman Hand Tool Manufacturers & Date Ranges

I found an odd looking little Craftsman socket the other day in my vehicles' cntr-seat-console storage, (black oxide, 3/8 drive, 3/8 socket, "Not For Impact Use")-- but with an elongated hex, with a u-shaped spring clip inside the socket. I hope I'm not startin' to lose my mind cuz I can't...

    Best pass-through ratchet/socket

I've had a Kobalt 'Xtreme Access' set, purchased approx 9 years ago, that's Taiwan made; very inexpensive; that has worked great and saved the day many times when nothing else worked.

Frozen bottom of front struts on a rust-belt vehicle; how to free?

YOU ! . . . YOU ! . . . are a great researcher ! Thanks so much for researching that up, and for everything you've looked-up so far. That should prove to be very helpful indeed ! I'll reference that tomorrow after I take the boot off and clean it. YOU ! . . . YOU ! . . ...

Frozen bottom of front struts on a rust-belt vehicle; how to free?

Okay that'll be my plan then. Had to mow lawn & run some errands; stopped at a few auto parts stores, but they didn't sell any univ BJ boots, as far as they knew. So I'll take the shredded BJ boot off tomorrow and try to find the same size online. I thank you again, Wrench97, for...

Frozen bottom of front struts on a rust-belt vehicle; how to free?

Good gosh O'mighty, if new univ boots fit, that would be tremendously great to be able to avoid having to drill/grind/chisel out the BJ rivets, or replacing the LCA's! Hopefully I can get decent measurements from the shredded boot after I pry and wipe it off. Thanks for another brilliant idea...

Frozen bottom of front struts on a rust-belt vehicle; how to free?

Wow, thanks, I hadn't thought of that. The joints are tight. There's just a shredded boot on one side, but of course most of the grease escaped, and is all over the outside of the shredded boot, and there's no zerk fighting on the stock ball joints. So I don't know how it'd be re-greased, unless...

Frozen bottom of front struts on a rust-belt vehicle; how to free?

Persuade ? :) You mean with crow bar, without loosening engine mount bolts? Btw, thanks again for your response. ;) Well the bolts look like they'd have to come at least 2/3rd's of the way up/out, to clear that aluminum-looking metal block that goes horiz thru the center of the black rubber...

Frozen bottom of front struts on a rust-belt vehicle; how to free?

Okay, I haven't tried loosening the nuts & bolts yet, but I did take a closer look, and on the driver's side, the forward-most bolt [may not clear?...meaning I'm not sure if it'll clear] the big round end of the ****** (or whatever that round engine-looking protrusion is); I put a straight edge...

Frozen bottom of front struts on a rust-belt vehicle; how to free?

Sorry Bogie, I must've accidentally missed your post yesterday when the page(s) jumped to 5. Thanks very much for your response! I don't have a die grinder (currently just have a Dewalt 4-1/2" angle grinder) and hadn't thought of using one, so thanks for the suggestion; I'll look into that, if...

Frozen bottom of front struts on a rust-belt vehicle; how to free?

Thanks again; I'm pretty sure I have 4 or 5 of those. I haven't tried loosening the LCA bolts & nuts yet---due to coffee, breakfast & CollegeGameDay---but I did see a comment somewhere about making sure there's clearance to remove the bolts....without having to lift the engine/trans....that may...
