    air compressor tank bung

Good info in this thread. My compressor has been leaking down overnight and I traced it to the threads of the bung/reducer fitting on the bottom. Going to try cracking it loose tomorrow to see what condition these threads are in.

2 TOUGHSERIES Construction Jacks (DWHT83550) free shipping, no taxes, $149.95

Seems like they would be useful for hanging doors, but what else?

tool allowances for techs starting their careers = great idea

Does her district have a charitable foundation associated with it? I used to volunteer for the local education foundation. We would fundraise and hold events throughout the year. The $ went to teachers specifically to make sure they never had to go out of pocket for any supplies that the kids...

    A Truth About Harbor Freight

Agreed, that would be very handy. I'll go one step further and wish they would start selling a small selection of steel for welding projects. Just basic stuff like 1/8" and 1/4" plate, square/rectangular tubing and pipe. The infrastructure is already in place for distribution, and with...

    A Truth About Harbor Freight

I agree completely. I've been stocking my garage from harbor freight for 15 years now. Im equipped to do pretty much anything that my house, vehicles or other equipment might need. There's no way I could afford that level of preparedness if it weren't for HF and all the coupons. If I were...

What's a good impact wrench that won't break the bank?

For what it's worth I've still yet to come across a fastener that my old Ingersoll 231 has failed to loosen. I keep wishing it would break so I can justify upgrading to one of the new composite high power jobs, but it's never let me down.

    Zero Turn maintenance.

The problem with the ezt series is usually getting access. They're not designed to be serviceable, so there's no accessible drain plug or remote reservoir to refill them. It's all but impossible to change the oil without removing them from the machine. A vacuum sucker might work if there's...

    Harbor Freight Coupon Thread

Wow, thanks for the info. I've been tripping over one of these in my garage for years now. I'll be glad to be rid of it and put the funds towards something more useful.

cheap speed control for treadmill motor

There are a few good ways to do it. The best source of info I've found is a YouTube channel called "DazeCars". He's gone through every available option from the cheap SCR controller+ bridge rectifier to a Variac transformer. Im personally running my belt grinder off a scrapped treadmill motor...

    Is this a welding table?

Those are really nice 👍. I'd like to build one like that when I find a decent source for used steel plate. In the meantime I'm just making brackets and little stuff

    Is this a welding table?

Yea, Im thinking it might be one of those cheap import plasma cutting tables, but I can't find an exact match. I might go take a look tomorrow. He's only asking $50 for it.

    Homemade Humble Roll-A-Round Work Bench

Definitely AI generated. I know because the top isn't covered up with misplaced tools and half-finished projects

    Is this a welding table?

Saw this posted on marketplace nearby listed as a welding table. It looks interesting, maybe with a fan to downdraft? Is this worth picking up for my first welding table?

Question for motorcycle techs or diy'ers.

Same here, the clearance always seems to tighten up a little bit even if you hold it in place with a wrench. I leave them just slightly loose then double check again after locking it down.

Looking for Recommendations for a Plasma Cutter

I'm in the Amazon camp too. Yeswelder or Lotos seem to be the most popular brands. Look for pilot arc, enough amps for your maximum use case, and preferably a low frequency start so that you can build a cnc table for it later.

    Chainsaw Questions- 80V Greenworks

Something doesn't sound right. I've hit dirt plenty of times and it never results in a completely ruined bar or chain. It's got to be in the setup. I would double check the bar mounting system against the manual to make sure it's installed correctly and nothing is bent. Are you sure the...

John Deere accident waiting to happen.

Issues or not, that's an objectively terrible design - the worst I've ever seen for an oil drain. I'm with the OP, Deere or Kohler or whoever needs to do better than that. A friction fit plastic plug???

The Stihl MS500i – A True Game Changer!

Congrats, the 500i is an awesome saw. I replaced the crank seals in my ms260 last month and finally put it to work today for some storm clean up. It's running great now. Spend a little time learning to maintain the chain with the sharpener of your choice. Sharp chain makes all the...
