    Chainsaw disappointment

Plastic on chain saws is common. Plastic is common in many things that take a lot of abuse, look at Glock pistols. When I bought my last Stihl, I had a choice of a homeowner version, or a pro version. There were a few differences, and I went with the pro. Thats been 10 years. We have had...

Any Experience with Stamped, Sealed Concrete? Regrets?

Re seal every couple of years. No getting around it. I used good quality stuff, and still had to deal with it. Stamped, contrasting borders and colored. I loved it. It does require maintenance.

Does anyone pay for a monthly home warranty service?

I had a fan motor fail in my air handler unit in my old home. They refused to pay, as some insulation had fallen into the motor, (the air handler was put in wrong), and caused it to fail. They would not pay. Refrigerant leak, no pay. And one other thing. Lots of effort to not pay. I got rid...

Where to buy snap on best deal without a tool truck?

I got to know some local pawn shops for Snap On tools. To the point that they would pull stuff from behind the counter when I walked in, as they knew I would be in, and they knew what I was after. I did real well with them. I will send my dealer a text 2maro and see what he says. They are...

    CO2 fire extinguisher

While CO2 [I]may [I]put out a class A fire, it can be a female dog. In the fire academy waaaaaay back, they had us try, and it was pretty inefficient. But hey, it is better than nothing! I have multiple types in my shop, 2 water, 1,CO2, and about 4 dry chems. It is good to have the...

    Mighty Mule Gate Opener problem

WIMPY__MULE, that is GOOD solid info! I will try it. 5 to 8 times a day is the typical cycle count. What is happening here is project creep. Too much stuff going on. There is getting to be wear on the hinges.

    Mighty Mule Gate Opener problem

I am stuck with a MM as well, as the home we bought already had it in place. I saw Apollo mentioned. Are there any other good ones out there? I will gladly pay more for something that works well. Mine latches less than half the time, short cycles, among other things.

Do Snap-on dealers collect online sales commission

I saw a few tie down straps and a pull cord/trouble light. Seemed legit, but I am not sure. I have never seen any tools at Costco from Snap-On.

Looking for a 350 floor jack

Looking for a 350.00 floor jack Looking to spend about 350.00 floor jack for our son. He married and they have a place of their own. He works on stuff a lot, and we want him to have a good, safe jack. (He does own several good jack stands). Any recommendations for that price range?

Chainsaw recommendations after Oklahoma Ice Storm

I have been on my fire departments wildland team for 20+ years, and in the woods, that is all you will see. We are west coast, so 90% Stihl. In the fire engines and ladder trucks, we have some Husqvarna specialty saws for cut off work and tech rescue. And some Stihls as well. I know several...

HVLP Gun problem - barely any paint when opening fan control

I have a HVLP system, and I am a hack at it. My first project were my kitchen cabinets in our old home. Oil based Sherwin Williams. It came out perfect. I used Rooda paint this time, and had a fight from start to finish. I was told to SOAK it in acetone. It worked well for cleaning, but...

Bendpak RJ-45 Hydraulic Pump issues -

When did they sell out? I have had one about 8 years. While it has been OK, no one could put a sticker on straight, parts arrived damaged, and the electric motor burnt out. (I had a local shop rebuild it better than new).

    DeWalt impact

I just grabbed a DeWalt 20v, DCF887. A cordless impact driver I got at a pawnshop cheap. It will not hold bits in the chuck(?). I am thinking probably a cheap fix, but I cannot figure out the exact part to buy. While I can wait to order from DeWalt Monday, I see all sorts of them on Amazon...
