    24 foot aluminum ladder questions

While most of my experience is with fire dept. ladders, three section ladders are heavy and a pain. We stoped using three section ladders on everything but our ladder truck. We were trained to do the "one man slam", and it just proved we can hurt ourselves by acting like we can lift anything...

    Insulating an existing metal building

We are looking to purchase a home with a couple of acres, and an existing 38x40 shop. While it does have a pellet stove, it is not insulated. I am guessing in it about 10 years old. I live in the Pacific NW, South of Seattle, East of Tacoma, (Puyallup). So we will have a lot of rain, occasional...

Please help Bendpak 4 post purchase and possible order change......

I love mine, wish I would have not have skipped the on the jacks. And while cramped a bit, it is worth it to be able to stack, as someone said. I did have the motor literally make a popping noise, smoke slightly, and that was it for the motor. It was out of warranty, so I took the motor to a...

Do you carry a pocket knife?

Always. But I haven't carried a "pocket knife" since I was about 10 or 12. Came out of pockets to easily, though I still have the ones my dad gave me. Spyderco clip knife for me at home and an "auto blade" at work, where I can legally have one.

    Coveralls?

I buy used coveralls at my local auto parts store. I also have an apron, as well as an old school "lab coat". It all depends on what I am doing. Hickory shirts are high on my list as well. The above have saved me a lot in clothing.

    Photo hosting?

Thanks for asking this. I cant figure out how to post a pic here. I try a few things, follow the steps that I find after a search, and nada. I would like another place to put pics as well. Willing to pay a bit. I just don't want them held hostage, ever.

    Streamlight Warranty?

I tried to almost everyone [I] I spoke to at Costco, from the first person at the customer service counter, to the store manager, then regional. Not a hint of who makes their batteries. I'm sure with some work, one could figure it out, but it has been over three years since I had swapped to all...

    Streamlight Warranty?

I have had the opposite. I don't remember a Duracell leaking in my lights. I have multiples, including Stylus you have. But, I did have the Costco brand of AA darn near destroy several of my lights, including a Streamlight. Costco took it up the corporate level, gave me money for the damaged...

    SK QC Issues

I bought a 3/8 standard and metric, deep and standard set. Then I bought another for our middle son for a graduation present, then I bought the 1/4 inch set. The box is stained with grease, the ratchets are picking up the concrete floor racing stripes. They fit and they work.

    Drum brake locks up

This happened to me with a 70 Mach 1 Mustang. The parts store sold me the wrong brake cylinder. It can happen at the store counter level, or at the factory. (I recently bought a ring and pinion set, a factory item, and they put the wrong parts in the correct box, at the factory, so it can happen...

New member/ a trip to Harry Epstein

I bought our middle son a SK socket/ratchet set, (he loves mine, so it is a good graduation present). There is a bit of a back order. That being said, they have kept me up to date with emails, and I called them with a question. Quick to answer and they knew the order and what was going on. I...

    Pressure washer

AHHHHHH! Totally makes sense! I am in the Pacific NW, so rain, rain and more rain. But the Dept. Of Transportation is starting to use chemicals on the roads to prevent "black ice". It is murder on my friends semis with aluminum wheels. Wondering about my undercarriage now. We just don't have to...

    Pressure washer

Just curious, why are folks using pressure washers on cars? I've used them on semi tractors, trailers, and farm tractors, but not my personal vehicles. Save for the undercarriage at times. Is it water savings?

Pros and cons of converting to low water toilets ?

We bought two 1.4 gallon Kohler pressure assist toilets. 5 years and have never clogged. Not even close. Could probably feed it a bowling ball.

    Stihl or Husqvarna?????

Either one. Better support from a dedicated saw shop or lawn and garden shop. Big Box stores tend not to have the experience level in their saw/mower/line trimmer depts. At least around where I live.

    Mailbox post and mount

Burl, we know what you mean! The next door neighbor's son had been driving a few months, and then got a bit nicer of a car. Days after he got it, he nailed a mailbox down the street as he reached for something. 4x4 post, it broke, the mailbox hit the windshield, caused some damage, but made...

    Mailbox post and mount

THANKS! We checked, and spoke the our letter carrier before we bought this. He thinks they are great, and reminded us of the height thing. 41 to 45 inches, and a bit of a setback.
