kwschumm, any chance of a pic? I have an idea what you are saying, but not positive. Across the street is a pasture with livestock, and a great owner. Thanks, and good luck with your master race of gophers.......

    Mailbox post and mount

We got a new mailbox for our home. A very serious, heavy mailbox. About 90 pounds, as it comes with a mail slot as well as a place for packages. That being said, the question is how to mount it. On the side of the road it will be on, it is soft dirt and sand, and we get a lot of rain in...

Looking at a Bendpak 4 post lift. Are there recent quality issues??

Mine works well and is safe. And for the price, and for what I do, there is not a lot of choice. That being said, #1, stickers are slapped on haphazardly and rather random, never straight. #2, Scraped up at some time in it's life before I got it, (I did get it new), they sent me a rattle can...

    Mail order tools, and store

There was a mail order tool company that has been mentioned on here a few times, and I can not think of the name. Seemed they had a lot of sheet metal workers tools, and many others. I want to think it was a Jewish sounding name. They had positive comments, and seemed to have some good deals now...

Any rechargable work lights with a locking/sturdy power connector?

I have had the same complaint. I work on cars, tractors etc, I am not sitting at a desk with a computer! While expensive, it is secure and looks strong. It has done me well so far.https://www.ebay.com/i/322844209243?chn=ps&dispctrl=1 I cant find a good pic of the connector on line, but it is...

    What Saved Your A$$?

Standard and Phillips screwdrivers, set of common sockets. Stuck on the side of I5. 87 F30 diesel tossed a couple of belts. (they had a BUNCH, as most thing were duel V belts). Got it done and home with above tools on the side of the road. (I carry a fair amount more now). Flashlight. A friend...

    Bend-Pak rebuild time? 4 years?

I have a local sparky scheduled for Tuesday afternoon. I know the owner, and they have a good rep. There are some supply houses in this area, and my son can get a motor at a very fair price. We will see how it goes!

    Bend-Pak rebuild time? 4 years?

I will call a sparky. It was just odd that it went bad that fast. And not a lot of cycles over the years. It is 220, and there is a dedicated circuit for it. But, who knows, something happened. I will get it checked so I don't buy another motor. I appreciate the input. Craig

    Bend-Pak rebuild time? 4 years?

I have a video, as well as a few still pics. I get smoke out of the top of the motor. Fluid is up, weight is in normal limits. I am just don't have enough patience to figure out how to load a video or pics onto this site. The motor will lift me, with no car. It just does not sound right.

    Bend-Pak rebuild time? 4 years?

Trying to raise my Bend-Pak lift. Motor is hot and smokes. 220, low use. Well maintained and low use. Would do pic or video, but short on patience. Thinking of having it rebuilt. Thoughts?

Recommend me a professional grade chainsaw

Stihl, pro grade. Used them for years in wildland firefighting and the fire dept. We have a couple of Husky/Jonesred. They are just fine as well. Stihl parts are easy to come by, and lots of people can work on them. Around here that is. Get some extra chains and a pair of chaps. You don't want a...

    Pressure Washer Purchase Advice Needed

I bought a Honda GX powered unit. I was advised to get a Cat or Comet pump. That has been 15 years. I came from a shop that dedicated to selling lawn, tree service and grounds equipment. No junk, lots of good stuff. I have never regretted it. I also keep it in an out building over the winter...

Have any of you found a very light weight garden hose that doesn't ****?

I have HUNDREDS of hours with collapsable "garden hose" in the wildland fire environment. In the area I work, we call it "toy hose". Rolls up to about 10 inches across. I love it. It does damage, as it can cuton sharp objects, but we use it putting out fire, so we are pretty hard on it...
