Looking For Advice On Thermostat With Remote Sensor

+1 We've got a couple Honeywell thermostats paired via Redlink to remote thermostats. You can tell the thermostat to run the program from the local reading or the remote. They work great! -- Carl

Craftsman screwdriver with hole in it?

OP here: I was thinking that hole looked a little too neatly done to have been an aftermarket mod. Thanks for shedding light on my mystery! -- Carl

Craftsman screwdriver with hole in it?

Found a Craftsman screwdriver with a hole drilled in it. Looks like it was made that way, but when I look up the part number there is no hole. Is this something someone modified, or did Craftsman sell something like it? Any idea what the hole is used for? Thanks! -- Carl

    Dry cut chop saw

Wow, that's odd. Usually when I buy something it guarantees a price drop for everyone else, not this time!

Compressor doesn't kick on with air handler?

OP with an update... This has been a great exercise. After monitoring for a while I figured out that the thermostat location was causing the AC to short cycle during the night. The thermostat is located near the kitchen, and there's a big honking freezer nearby. When the freezer runs it heats...

Compressor doesn't kick on with air handler?

Investigated where the 10 minute delay was coming from. Found a "delay on break" timer set to 10 minutes inside the heat pump, see attached. I also found that the factory default on cycles per hour is 6 for cooling and 9 for heating. Changed that to 4 each in hopes of getting fewer/longer...

Compressor doesn't kick on with air handler?

Honeywell TH8320R1003 None of the air quality/circulation features are enabled, though it is capable of that, good suggestion. Yes, the time delay. That fits perfectly, the data was right there in front of me the whole time. Is there something I should change or is this an example where...

Compressor doesn't kick on with air handler?

I got an energy monitor and have been learning more about our usage patterns. I noticed something I don't understand with the heat pump. We're running AC and normally I see the compressor and fan start up at the same time, then the compressor turns off, then a little while later the fan turns...

    Dry cut chop saw

This thread is going to cost me some money. If anyone has a lead on a good deal for an Evosaw380 post it up. Amazon is around $370 right now, up from $350 a couple weeks ago. Not much of a Black Friday deal... :headscrat -- Carl

    Conference room table power

You're absolutely right, and that's where I started. I found that they are good at telling you what you can't do, but not very good at suggesting acceptable alternatives. You guys have given me a number of good ideas to consider. Thanks!

    Conference room table power

That's actually what I was originally thinking but I don't think those are OSHA approved for permanent use, are they?

    Conference room table power

I like the form factor. I need to cover two 5' tables on either side of the center and I'd like to hide all the phone-related wall warts on a power strip zip tied under the table. Seems like I still run out of outlets.

Yeah, that's why I am trying to get what I want with the one duplex receptacle.

    Conference room table power

Thanks for the suggestions. The wall tap outlet multiplier looks like a good backup plan if nothing else works out. I will get the brand of the floor box tomorrow. Picture attached for now. I like the Belkin "power centers", they would give us what we need for laptops and mobile device...

    Conference room table power

I'm setting up a conference room and have a question about power. We've got a floor box with one duplex receptacle in it and we would like to plug in three power strips. Two of the strips will provide power to either end of the table for laptops and phone charging. The other one will power the...

Adding a fan in my bathroom.

Did you insulate the ducting? If not, cold air in the attic will condense the moisture out of the exhaust stream and cause it to drip back down instead of going outside where you want it. -- Carl

How to hide robot vacuum power adapter?

Maybe someone will integrate one with a La-Z-Boy recliner. At night the footrest pops up and lets the robot out, like a little garage door! :) -- Carl

How to hide robot vacuum power adapter?

Thanks to all for the feedback. Yes, my OCD is probably wound up a little on this. We keep getting more and more devices with their own special wall wart but there is little progress being made in the way of dealing with the spaghetti-fest of wires. We're going to need more tables, chairs, and...

How to hide robot vacuum power adapter?

We got this robot vacuum a few months back. Really like it. We've figured out where we want it to hang out when it's resting. I'm not a big fan of the "power adapter with cord hanging down" look. Is there some way I can put that adapter into the wall and run the power cable down so that it comes...
