Is there a downside to impact driver bits?

Don't tell that to my hammer drill, it would forget it has the ability to drive. This is why companies put speed selectors and mode switches on hammer drills. I've used a hammer drill for driving plenty of times, all you do is switch it from hammer mode to driving mode. Now, if you're talking...

    How to store tye raps

I use a large Plano box for mine, no worries about spill or mess, sizes stay put, and I can take it wherever I want. The tubes do look like a cool idea though, not bad for when you work a lot on the bench and don't want to screw around grabbing a bag or box. Having tools and whatnot at easy...

    What is it? SIzer

Looks like a ring sizer, what jewelers use to tell what size ring you wear.

Where/how does everyone store large power tools?

It's alright. I get sh*t done easier, that's for sure.

Where/how does everyone store large power tools?

90% of my cordless tools hang over the workbench using old NiCad battery shells. The one reciprocating saw sits on a mount I made, and it's on the left side of the bench...you can see the top of it. The other two reciprocating saws are inside the rolling box that my original Ryobi tools came in...

"Charging Station" for cordless tools. Show them please.

My chargers are plugged into individual switches, had to do that because when they're charging they interfere with my radio. Which isn't an issue now because I use my MP3 player and not the radio. But, I left the switches so I wouldn't have to leave the chargers powered all the time. Garage...

    Extractor Sockets, Yay or Nay?

I have a few of the different types at home, made by Irwin, and I use them a lot and love them. So far I haven't broke one, and none have failed to pull even the nastiest of frozen/stripped bolt or nut. I see them getting returned at work often, normally it's because one of them was stripped...

Ryobi Angle Grinder. Best deal for the price. Here's why.

The cordless angle grinder is really nice, works great, has pretty good power, and is nice to use. Has a good feel to it, and it runs cleaner and smoother than the DeWalt we use at work.

Ryobi vs. Craftsman Drill/Driver Home Use

They're all decent, I don't have any issues with any of the tools. There's no good or bad, it depends on what you want to do.

Ryobi vs. Craftsman Drill/Driver Home Use

I have Ryobi tools that are 13 years old and they run just as strong as they did when I bought them. I used them to heavy-duty work on machinery and building maintenance, and never had a tool fail. I wouldn't own as much Ryobi as I do if it were a **** brand... Ryobi Family Portrait 02 by...

Used Ryobi 18v tools for $5

Nah, it wasn't too random, it was sitting there along with its brother waiting to be cannibalized to use as a cord wrap on the drill press. And yes, I'm a tiny bit organized.

Used Ryobi 18v tools for $5

They're perfect for heavy-duty use and they have plenty of balls. Sorry, I used Ryobi in the workplace for years and those tools still run perfect today. Your statements may not be all together true...I've heard others say they've used Ryobi in the workplace or know people who do.

Used Ryobi 18v tools for $5

It's the 8 1/4", and I like it. It works great on the Lithium batteries, all the other tools do too. I don't know if you can find the 8 1/4" anymore, I think all they have is the 7 1/4" now.

Used Ryobi 18v tools for $5

I own a few Ryobi tools... Ryobi Family Portrait 02 by Edward Durbin, on Flickr The photo is a little old, doesn't include the new Hybrid trimmer, angle grinder, and drill press I have, which of course are Ryobi. I used the older "blue" tools in the work environment, building maintenance and...

    Pass-Thru Ratchet Set

With a pass-thru set, do they really have to be deep? The pass-thru set I have, Gearwrench, has extensions that will give you basically a deeper socket. What you're seeing in the vid technically isn't a pass-thru set, it's a shock-absorber tool set, kinda like this

Dewalt 20v Max Cordless 7-1/4" Sliding Compound Miter Saw

I like my Ryobi 8 1/4" miter, but keep wishing that they'd make an 8 1/4" slider. I'd be all that like white on rice. Sadly though, I don't think my hoping and wishing has reached them yet. Nice review, as always, you've done a good job.

    Ryobi SPC18 contractor pack

Everything comes into my grubby hands sooner or later. The 1/2" impact is probably gonna be next. Gotta pace myself, excuses to give to the wife for new tools don't come out of thin air, you have to plot, plan, etc..

    Ryobi SPC18 contractor pack

It's the "Six-Pack" and they don't make them anymore, haven't for a long time. I bought one around 13 years ago, still use the tools to this day. The miter saw gets used almost every day, the other stuff maybe every other day or so. The Six-Pack is what started my Ryobi obsession... Ryobi...

What is the purpose of a hex screwdriver

With all of the drills, impact, screwdrivers, etc. that I have, the one thing I reached for the most was a Dremel 7.2v driver. That thing was comfortable to hold, had tons of torque, and was easy to use. Lighter than grabbing the impact or drill/driver, faster than using standard screwdrivers. I...
