    Block or Concrete Form foundation?

    Concrete block probably cheaper, you still need a footing. Depends where you are. How deep will the frost level be? Larry

    Okay,8 in block foundation 2x4 walls 3/8 or 1/2 inch obs on out side Some type off rap on the obs leaves you about 4 inches for the brick. 2x6 walls and you will need 10 inch block.I would not recomend split face block ,they will let water penatrate them. Larry

You need to find a brick similar in colour,all of the mortar joints that are cracked or open need to be cut back .Cut out the bad brick,, big grinder with a masonry blade and the loose mortar joints.The mortar is very likley LIME...

    concrete block foundation

    Get a block layer to help you,Get him to build the corners and bring his mortar mixer, you get sand and cement. He will tell you what kind. After the corners are up he can leave you to play with it. I did this job for 40 years and have seen some real bad looking jobs, Good luck. Larry

    okay then, thanks guys.I do plan on putting in another vent that should open when the exhaust fan comes on. I will wire it with a seperate switch. I have used this setup before in a horse barn but that was to get rid of all the moisture in the air. Thanks Larry
