    Free Standing Carport

I checked the website for Carolina Carports. Saw the 12ga upgrade. Didn't see anything for the roof panel upgrade. Yep, the vertical is the style I'm favoring. Did you get color-matched screws? Where does the J-Trim go? Many moons ago, I was looking at carports and viewed videos of the...

Good to know that anchoring is very important. When you say gauge, do you mean the tubing or the sheet?

    Free Standing Carport

The initial plan is just the roof and maybe one panel down horizontally. I'm too old to look much further down the road. I'm tempted to stop buying green bananas. Ok, you got me thinking.........darnit.

    Free Standing Carport

I need a 2-car-wide outdoor carport. I've seen some discussions many years ago here, but looking for current information. Lots of people sell them, but it seems there are really only 2-3 actual manufacturers. Brand to get? Brand to avoid? What would you do differently next time? Depending on...

    4-post Parking Lift --- BRAND

Yes, I looked around some. Most of the discussions have been sizing and 4 vs 2. I need a 4-post to store my 1990 Caprice on. No work ... just park. I'm asking for the brand you would suggest and/or the brand to avoid. I already have a Bendpak 9k 4-post to work on. Thanks..........

Disable the AUX when on the generator

My Trane heat pump has the huge meter-spinning toaster coils as AUX heat. The generator is not large enough to power those when the outdoor unit goes into defrost mode. I need to stop the toaster from turning on. I realize that there will be some amount of chilled air coming from the air...

Lift modifications Thread- Lets see them!

Some people have installed lights IN the floor. I'm not too crazy about that because of shadows and glare. I use these: https://www.harborfreight.com/lighting/work-lights/390-lumen-magnetic-slim-bar-folding-led-work-light-56329.html I keep the long one plugged in when not in use. I have...

Yep, that is normal. No rolling jack, all the lights you want. The sliding bridge jack as well, all the lights you want. I still like my rolling bridge jack.

I just picked up a Generator, I have some wiring questions Power shop and home?

Thank you for the quick reply. To be fair, the generator is considered "portable" so the manual consideres that. I'm making it a pernament backup.

I just picked up a Generator, I have some wiring questions Power shop and home?

wyliesdiesels While you are talking about bonding, I have a question. How do I know if my generator is bonded or not? This is the statement in my generator's manual: "To ground the Generator, connect a #6 AWG grounding wire (not included) from the Grounding Terminal on the Control Panel to a...

    HF Braun Slim LED Worklight

The button-top batteries are better than the non-button-top batteries. Also, some batteries have an internal circuit that only lets the battery discharge only so far. That is also the better one to get. I have a charger that holds 4 batteries and does not over-charge them. Always at the ready.

Glad you thought about those risers. My HD-9 is at the height that I can walk under it and not duck. Now, my kids and my friends have left DNA on various parts of the lift. As to your "lifts", I would be extra cautious of the fit between the riser and the lift arms. You don't need any...

BendPak New GrandPrix 4-Post Lift - No Air Required

The airlocks, to me, is a very big PLUS on my HD-9. I'm getting older and have no desire to "pull-n-hold-the-lever" almost all the way to the floor. Or anywhere in between either. I already have air in my shop/garage so that is not an issue for me. It is only like 10psi. Even if I didn't...

Alternative to bendpak rj45 rolling jack?

Based on the video of the Challenger 3.5 it looks like it rolls on wheels that have a wide flat spot in the center. I guess that could work on the Bendpak ridge. Another thing to consider is how high the jack is when fully lowered. Could be a concern for low vehicles. You may not have one...

Alternative to bendpak rj45 rolling jack?

It depends on how the inside edge of the runway is made. Some are just a flat lip. Some have no lip. Some have a ridge to their lip. The Bendpak I have has the lip with the ridge. The rollers of my rolling jack have groves to ride on the lip ridge.
