Alternative to bendpak rj45 rolling jack?

I bought the Advantage manual rolling jack for my HD-9. Fits perfectly. Since I bought my HD-9 a little while back, I don't know if Bendpak or Advantage made any design changes. That said, I did have to go through the jack to fix issues from sloppy assembly and prep. I have OCD so that could...

Garage: to plumb or not to plumb? Full bath? Just sink?

If you will have a beer fridge then you must have at least a urinal.

    2-wire house vs 3-wire house

Yes. The electric utility will bury the cable after the existing gas pipe is relocated since it is in the way. The holidays have caused contractors slow to respond and slow to come out and slow to submit a quote.

    Old house wiring outlets wiggling

I used these yesterday. Some places I had to stack 6 of them. But, in my application, I have super heavy thick solid brass wall plates. I have to leave lots of slack in the device just to get it to show itself through the wall plate. I'll get some pics.

    2-wire house vs 3-wire house

Ok, I mentioned this earlier but here is a pic of it. This is on the circuit that I listed earlier on the 20amp. The 3-white go to the wire nut in front. 1 white comes out of the wire nut and goes to the receptacle. The 3-black go to the wire nut behind the mud ring. 1 black comes out of the...

Lift modifications Thread- Lets see them!

I like the "storage" the runways have  There is none with a 2-post.

    2-wire house vs 3-wire house

That gutting will have to be done someday for sure. Or at least a full electrical overhaul.

    2-wire house vs 3-wire house

Yep, I grew up with the screw-in fuses. The local hardware store had a bunch as well as the corner 7-11 along with a vacuum tube tester. Remember people putting a penny in there to get things going again?

More Lift Questions. 4 vs 2. Cheap vs $$

Operator error is the root cause of most failures. But it does seem that 2-post errors seem to outnumber the 4-post errors. At least on Youtube anyway.

More Lift Questions. 4 vs 2. Cheap vs $$

True, I've seen a pic or two of 4-post failure. One seems to point to a bad operator. The other was waaaaay old and not even related to the current market. I always keep an eagle eye when going up or down on the 4 corners. I caught myself once not lifting high enough to release all of the...

    2-wire house vs 3-wire house

I did go through the panel to track down what was on what. This is the worst one. All of this is on one 20 amp standard breaker: Bedroom Master – light – ceiling Bedroom Master – outlet – front Bedroom Master – outlet – right Bedroom Master – outlet – rear Bedroom Master – outlet – left...

    Old house wiring outlets wiggling

Found the multi-pak of the neon Z-spacers at Lowes. I did my first outlet with them. Worked great. As mentioned by some, the oversized holes were mudded up some. But not all of them. It is really really bad at the kitchen backsplash. None of the devices were touching the tile. The wall...

    2-wire house vs 3-wire house

As mentioned in another thread, my son bought a house built in 1952. Some of the wirings are the original 2-wire and some upgrades to 3-wire have accrued. When changing out the outlets there are some that are 2-wire supplied and have 3-wire devices installed. And some are 2-wire with 2-wire...

No babies. No senior adults. No inspection. No non-tamper resistant outlets are available at the local big box. Are they available at the specialized electrical houses?

More Lift Questions. 4 vs 2. Cheap vs $$

This was a major defining factor in me selecting a 4-post. .....nothing has ever fallen off of a 4-post....... I'm not making a living using my HD-9 4-post lift.

    Nut & Bolt Storage

Re: Nut & Bolt Storage Because of the age of this thread, many photos are no longer able to be seen........ I use the 99 cents "shoeboxes" from Walmart. I put a label on the end of the container for the sizes. 1/4" 5/16" 7/16" 1/2" etc. I have small plastic bottles that contain the nuts...

4 Post Lift Atlas or Bendpak

I have the HD9. No regrets. I did buy the Atlas manual bridge jack. It is way cheaper than the Bendpak version. I did go thru the entire unit and found some issues that my OCD required fixing. My checkbook was the deciding factor. No regrets on the Atlas purchase.

Actually, the metal screw ears are either completely gone are filled with the rusted remains of the previous 6x32 screw.
