    Fire Extinguisher

What a coincidence. I was gonna ask what people were using for their garage fire extinguishers. I had one for 20+ years that is moved from shop to shop that was never actually mounted. Just sat on the floor. I recently mounted it. It promptly went to zero pressure. Anyway, I need to buy 2...

Chainsaw - grease bar or not?

I've always used the super tacky bar oil and greased the sprocket. I also have a hacksaw blade, that I thinned down to fit in the chain track and ground a hook on the end, to remove all the debris. Here is an "image" of my greaser that I've been using since the late 70s.

What are some good sand blasting options for garage shop?

There are LOTS of great Youtube videos of the Harbor Freight 40lb blast cabinet. Someone even modified theirs so that the top lid would swing up as compared to using the side door. Can even get it 25% off this Memorial Day.

Help me pick between these lifts

My door was raised and roof-pitched. DDM does NOT offer premade tracks for roof-pitch. I was supposed to cut my existing 90* turn and make it work. I was planning to do that. I decided to have a local company do my 16ft door and I was gonna do my 9ft door. The 16ft is the more important of...

    compressor filter

Hummmm I have "stinky" air. May have to revisit the condition of the felt filter. My system goes back probably to the 80s at least. Bought it well used 15 years ago. No obvious option for any kind of screw on filter.

How many know what this is?

OK, this does not show that tool being used but is "old-school" sawing. I have no idea why I watched this........well I did have my "after-dinner" beer in my hand.

Parts washer for brake jobs? What fluid?

I've seen a lot of Youtube videos of people upgrading their HF parts washer and that is what they are using. Apparently, that solvent does not bother the plastic OEM pump. I've used the spray can brake cleaner for a lot of cleaning things other than brake stuff. Just have to be cautious of...

    Lets Share Youtube Channel Suggestions.

AvE - (probably the biggest and undoubtedly the most popular tool channel and for good reason. Gotta love the BOLTR vids. But couldnt make this list without mentioning him.) Always on the lookout for his "seasoned" coffee cups amongst the workbench stuff. Project Farm - I love this channel. He...

Parts washer for brake jobs? What fluid?

I've read that this is a great "parts washer" solvent. People have used the water soluble stuff and don't think it cleans very good. This is what they end up using. Crown PSC 1000 Parts Cleaner, 5 gal. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/crown-psc-1000-parts-cleaner-5-gal?cm_vc=-10005

    Garage opener hanging kit

I hung mine using rubber muffler clamps to reduce the vibrations being transmitted into the support structure, which was below the room above. Made a big difference.
