    A few of my old snap on bits. Nothing too special , sockets from ‘27-29, including a 5/8 Drive 15/16. A 20” long 1/2 extension, no date markings , and a old round head flex ratchet.

    I didn't think of that, that makes sense. Half of a speeder. an L shape hex, and then Hex drive sockets , which were somewhat common back in the day. Interesting.

    Odd shape looking obstruction socket thing. It has a rotating handle like a speed handle , the socket size is 1/2” No manufacturer , just the words ‘Pat. Applied for made in USA

    Calcium Carbide soldering iron ?

    There is a tiny tiny hole (almost like a jet ) near the valve. The holes on the short piece of pipe i was thinking were for air mixture. Just a thought

    Picked this interesting gem up at an estate sale recently, Dad and I think it could be a soldering gun that uses calcium carbide. (to make acetylene). The white powderey residue, the fact it had a "cloth" inside make us think this. Obviously probably kind of dangerous to use. haha...

    Brown and Sharpe level

    picked up a old and little bit crusty level , I thought it looked cool, I didn't even know it said Brown and Sharpe until I cleaned it off. It works and rotates, still needs more cleaning. Anybody have an idea of the age ?

    interesting Craftsman ratchet

    Although not that old (early '70's) I picked up this ratchet which I thought was interesting. I never saw a modern Craftsman ratchet with all this patent info on the handle. Usually all the patent # stuff was on really old tools. Was this the 1st model of this type of ratchet ?

    couple Craftsman grinders I saw today

    estate sale stuff. saw these grinders, 2 separate places. I dint buy them because I don't have the room, but snapped a couple pics. I don't know the vintage , perhaps you guys could shed some light .

    What would you clean these machine tools with?

    I got a bag of these counter sinks and stuff at a tag sale the other day for a couple dollars. light surface rust, What would you do? I have the ability to do electrolysis, vinegar, acetone and ****** fluid, phosphoric acid, wire brush on a grinder, etc ??? Thanks !

    Cool 3" Champion vise

    Scored ? This at a garage sale last weekend. Old Champion 3" jaw vise , appears to even have a "hardy hole" in the anvil. But sure if that's original or not. Anyone else got one ? Any other info ?

    Does anyone still use these old school welding goggles?

    thanks for the responses, Tried them the other day with some O/A welding. definitely a lot lighter than the full face or the flip up goggles. I am still learning O/A welding, now that winter is here, I should have more time to practice . These came with a shade 4 and a shade 6 ...
