Does a welding table need to be made entirely of metal? I have a rather heavy wooden tabletop that I was thinking of skinning with some 10-12 ga. for a welding table. Would that work?

Need some suggestions here. Next week I'll be painting the inside walls of a friend's garage. She owns a cool old car that throws out exhaust every time she fires it up, leaving about a 3 foot diameter black soot/exhaust spot on the wall. Any ideas on how to clean that **** up before I paint...

Stopped at a yard sale today run by an older Chinese lady that had lots of tools. I wasn't expecting much, but managed to gather a large pile of goodies, ALL made in the USA. But damn if she didn't drive a hard bargain. I tried to get a price for the whole pile, but she picked through it and...

Ok, I'm pretty handy in a general way except when it comes to anything electrical. It's my blind spot, the hole in my knowledge so to speak. Ok, I need some tips here. Does anyone know how to give new galvanized sheet metal an aged look? Older galvanized seems to have been darker, and had bigger spangle (flakes) of zinc than the shiny new stuff. I'm going for an aged/antique/ rusty look on a few projects....
