Please explain a basic function with heating

Thanks for the heads up! Everything I've read said to switch to emergency heat if you are A: Uncomfortable B: Wanting to shorten how often the outdoor unit runs. Some have mentioned having positive results down to 0' or lower. We replaced indoor and outdoor units with Goodman heat pump/ AC...

Please explain a basic function with heating

I just had a heat pump installed this last fall. I run on heat pump until the pump can't keep up, then the propane kicks in. It has tried to keep up as low as 5 degrees. Surely details on model # and brand would be more helpful in providing details.

looking for a pole-barn builder recommendation

Assuming you meant 32 x 30 at 960 sq. ft.... Look into whether or not the building contractor also does the concrete floor. I had to find a separate concrete contractor to pour my floor. I just had a 30 x 32 built this summer. Metal roof and siding. 2-10' insulated doors. Just the building...

Pole Barn w/ Wood Floor & Concrete

Solid advice from an expert! Just had my 30'x32' poured by, what i would consider, to be a new guy in the trade. It shows. Not 100% by any stretch. But he did come in on budget. My 960 sq. ft. was $4,400.

Natural Gas, Electric, Water, and Cat6 in same trench

Per Air Force regulation, Cat6 cannot be any closer than 12" to power. Doesn't say anything about its own trench. I plan on running mine 24" apart in the same trench.

    Vertical rise garage doors

I'm half way through a build with 10' x 8' doors. 12' side walls and ceilings. Having hi lift track put in. I'll have to see how it turns out, but it should avoid dead space above the door.

Tyvek vs Lowes house wrap pole barn

I'm starting a build tomorrow. Only have insulation on the roof metal. Is it worth it to try and wrap this pole building as it's going up?

Newbie wants a garage but too many trees in the way

I had a roughly 60 x 100 pad cleared earlier this year. Roughly 50 - 60 trees / stumps. Of the trees I had already cut, I left the stumps roughly 3 ft. tall. 1 dozer and 1 track hoe cleared and leveled the whole pad in 8 hrs. Leave it to the pros.

    Planning and Building Process

I'm planning, or trying to, for a 30 x 32 structure. More likely than not, it will be a pole type. I've contacted several pole builders locally to get an idea on that costs will run. I know I've heard here to double it. When your building was in the planning stages, what things would you...

Finding CG on a vehicle for putting on a lift.

If there is any interest, I have the calculations at work to find the actual CoG. We use it for shipping vehicles via Mil Aircraft. Tandem axle trucks, trenchers, etc. All with documented Center of Gravity. It's a complicated calculation, and I can only remember parts of it off the top of my...

    School Suggestions

Thanks for all the input! Lots of good viewpoints! Just had the boy read through all the responses. It's hard to say what he absorbs, but he is insistent on some sort of degree. Currently looking at a Community College near Dayton, Ohio. We'll see how this plays out... I'm not a mind reader...
