    The VISES of Garage Journal

Welcome aboard, that's a super great find. Those 204 1/2's make great user vises and should cleanup well. I think you could only narrow it down by the style of the jaws. There are members here I'm sure could give you more info. My suggestion is to go back to that grave and find that one pipe jaw...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

It's a baby 2"? Fellas, the Torco 3 1/2" sits and the Torco 4" on a 3 bolt 2 1/2" toddler taking 5/16" carriage bolts . . The only other base that will fit on a baby is their early Juno on the swivel. Usually the only ID is a front sticker that's usually gone and you can get them cheap. Gotta...

Keep an eye out for a 3 1/2" Torco. It should have 5/16" carriage bolts and that's the same base. Just sayin

Hollands Erie PA Antique Vintage Bench Vise #24 59lbs Information

Hollands made one hell of a nice vise. Too bad, like Reed and others, they didn't redesign their jaw configuration to accept replacements. Unfortunately Reed did it when it almost was too late to the party. Hollands at times stamped a date underneath the dynamic . I had a 24 dated 54. Naturally...

History of Snap-on badged bench vises?

If I had to guess, more then 25 years ago. Maybe you could narrow it down with their dated cataloging for a Snap On Nut. The Tradesman's basically came out for the US dealers. Years ago I bought a skid of Canadian Snap On V400S's and they were indeed 400s"s early 90's with the red, white and...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Back years ago before guys could check on their phones at the auction site, many would preview and most there bid on specific items; however the actual bidders were just the ones on the floor, not the 1000's like today. What's worse is that many provide shipping I made out like a bandit. I had...

"Life before internet and Bidspotter. The old days "

I think back 25 or so years ago when auctions were fun to attend, when the only bidders were the guys there on the floor, the same faces that you would see at most auctions in or around the Chicago area. Guys knew why I was there, and I knew all bottom feeders in town waiting for their time to...
